Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a one month ban. No exceptions.
  • The use of sockpuppets in PEFH is extremely forbidden, resulting in the permanent ban of the sockpuppet's account(s) and in the deletion of your nominated villain.
  • Once the vote was posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a week ban, NO exceptions.
  • There is a limit for how many times a villain can be nominated in a period of time. If a candidate is downvoted but still being brought to PEFH more than once in the following months, the limit is 5 attempts. If a villain is downvoted 5 times, the villain can not be proposed again until 12 months has passed after the last proposal. Bringing the villain back before then is a violation of this rule and the candidate will be erased from the nominations. For this limit to reset, the villain must not be proposed for 12 months after the last proposal.
  • Only nominate a Pure Evil that has a page on the wiki at the time you nominated them. If you try to nominate a Pure Evil that you plan to make a page for, it will be removed.

Suggestions

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a villain if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a villain just because you know nothing about them.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's boring" or "I don't like him" aren't arguments.

Gul'dan

  • Warcraft is one of the most well-known and influencial gaming franchises of all time with World of Warcraft, which is from this series, being one of the single most iconic and well-known games of all time. The franchise has had an immense impact on several gaming genres like the Real-Time Startegy genre (because of the first 3 Warcraft games), the MMORPG genre (because of World of Warcraft), the Digital collectible card game genre (because of Hearthstone) and even on the MOBA genre because the first MOBA games were actually inspired by a Warcraft III mod called Defense of the Ancients. In November it will be the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise and the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft which means we have not just one, but two occasions to nominate a Warcraft villain for November. Gul'dan is one of the most iconic villains from Warcraft and often considered to be one of the most evil due to his self-serving and traitorous personality and lust for power, both magical and political. He is responsible, both directly and indirectly, for some of the most important events in Warcraft lore as he was the one who ensured his fellowed Orcs would get corrupted by demonic influence and be slaves to the Burning Legion and he made sure they would commit genocide against the Draenei under the false belief the Draenei are evil and want to harm them. His actions also ensured the ruination of the old Orc world of Draenor after which he invaded the world of Azeroth with his Horde which makes him responsible for the wars between the Allience and the Horde but he is also indirectly responsible for the eventual mutual cooperations between the Orcs and the other races of Azeroth after Gul'dan's death. Gul'dan is resposible for so much of the events in Warcraft lore that without him, the Orcs wouldn't have travelled to Azeroth and wouldn't have waged wars against the human kingdoms. Aside from how important he is for the lore, he also has some really cool and terrifying powers as a Warlock who uses demonic magic and he does have some complexity in the form of a traumatic backstory during his childhood of him being handicapped and being abused by the rest of his clan which could even lead to some sympathy for him from the audience even if he is well past his backstory and is still Pure Evil. For these reasons, I believe that Gul'dan would be a perfect candidate to nominate for November.

  • Oh boy, so Princess & the Frog is gonna have it's 15th year anniversary, so why not headline this guy, as he has a pretty good performance by Keith David, as well as being one of the most well known Disney villains out there IMO, oh and him having pretty good music numbers involving him, with this, I feel he's a decent candidate for November's Headlined Pure Evil.

Wallace Breen

  • Half-Life 2 turns 20 this November, and apart from the fact that it's been 20 years without a "Half-Life 3", it also prompted me to nominate the game's main antagonist, Wallace Breen. Sure, he's not as iconic as the G-Man, but he's still regardless well-known for his cool voice-acting by the late Robert Culp, as well as setting an example of dictatorships in video games, where he cowardly sells his own kind to the Combine to save his skin, enabling a visceral regime where reproduction is restrained, people are forced into migrations, and any rebel gets put in a Fate worse than Death by becoming a Stalker. It's a brutal niche that not many authoritarian despots implement in their rules, and it also solidifies Breen as an example of an ill-intentioned "Extremist", which all falls under hypocrisy at its finest, and is a good example of a coward who betrays his own kind for personal gain.

  • Far Cry 3 will reach its 12th anniversary this month, so I figure why not headline the main antagonist of the game. While Hoyt may not be as memorable as Vaas he still proves to be an effective villain driving the story, through his actions such as being one of the reasons why Vaas is the way that he is, along with being the main reason why the island is in turmoil with his trade of drugs and slaves. On top of that he carries a bombastic performance by Steve Cumyn.
