Lazlo Valentin, publicly known as Professor Pyg, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Barbara Kean) of Season 4 of the TV series Gotham.
Originally appearing as an insane serial killer who targets corrupt officers inside the G.C.P.D. and dressing their corpses in pig masks, he is revealed to be an assassin who poses as serial killers and was working for Sofia Falcone in her secret conspiracy plot to takeover Gotham City's underworld.
He was portrayed by Michael Cerveris.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Prior to his appearance in Gotham City, he became infamous for performing contract kills while copying the M.O. of various serial killers as his signature. Whilst operating in the South, he committed murders under the guise of serial killings with a different M.O.
- He butchered many corrupt cops while placing dead pig heads on their corpses' faces like masks.
- To lure Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock, he kidnapped another cop and attached him to a grenade that was inside his stomach, which causes it to explode and kill the cop and nearly Gordon and Bullock.
- He lured Penguin's mob and the GCPD to an old courthouse, activating a gatling gun that kills dozens or more so people.
- He escaped by posing as an injured cop whom Gordon rescued, and after he revealed himself over a phone call, he kills an ambulance driver.
- He kills six homeless people and turns their corpses into meat pies, trying to force Gotham's rich acolytes to eat them.
- To force their compliance, he threatened to kill a mute child whom Penguin befriended.
- He murdered an Arkham inmate with a broken vinyl record, simply because he was annoying him.
- While escaping Arkham, he killed several guards on his way out.
- He assisted Sofia Falcone with assassinating her father Carmine and shot her to cover up her involvement.
- While he admitted that he went a little too far with cooking the homeless people, he showed great pride in his work and thus, he truly felt no remorse for his crimes.
- Even though he claimed that he wanted to clean up Gotham of his corruption, it is merely an excuse since he was acting as the Pyg and really couldn't care less about the city's state.
- His past is unknown and his claim about how he suffered at the hands of Gotham's corrupt system is to be disputed. Even if there was some truth to it, it's not enough to justify his actions.
Trivia[]
- The Gotham version of Professor Pyg is, so far, the only incarnation of Professor Pyg to be Pure Evil.
