Honest, also known as Prime Minister Honest, the Prime Minister and the First Minister, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Esdeath) of the manga/anime series Akame ga Kill!. He's the arch-nemesis to the Revolutionary Army and Night Raid.
He was voiced by Kōji Ishii in Japanese and Marty Fleck in English.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He poisoned the Emperor's parents who would die for it, with the purpose of manipulating their son, which led to most of the events in the series.
- He manipulated the Emperor and was responsible for the corruption in the Empire.
- He allows mass murder, rape, torture, and other vile atrocities that grew the corruption in the capital so nobles can do whatever they want at the expense of the lives of those beneath them.
- He secretly eats human flesh, finding attractive women particularly "tasty."
- He has the military launch brutal campaigns of conquest and expansion throughout the land.
- He approved his son, Syura, of forming a group of evil criminals, the Wild Hunt, to attack civilians in the guise of "justice." Despite mourning for his death later, Honest ultimately dismissed it in no less than seconds and he later curses him because he got his Teigu destroyed, demonstrating no care for his son at all.
- He manipulates the Emperor into using the Supreme Teigu to indiscriminately kill both the enemies and his own civilians, murdering thousands of innocents as he gloats over the death and destruction.
- He planned to corrupt the Emperor so that the Empire's corruption would last long after his death.
- He abandons the Emperor and tries to flee.
- He shoots Leone, and attempts to rape and eat her. He would be indirectly responsible for her death as, after the battle, she would succumb to her wounds.
- While Honest does have some comedic moments, he's still taken completely seriously because they don't detract from his heinous crimes.
- Despite having a brutal execution where the rebels slowly dismember his body, it's played for satisfaction considering the nature of his crimes.
Trivia[]
- In the Anime version of Akame Ga Kill!, Honest is the only Pure Evil, as Syura's anime version fails to meet the heinous standards of the series, and Champ doesn't make an appearance in the anime.
