~ Philip Eppermint stopping Mr. Chang from continuing to hit Quang, only for Philip to beat the latter to death. |
Philip Eberfroe (Philip Eppermint in the English dub) is the main antagonist of the Danish animated movie franchise Checkered Ninja. He is the owner of a toy company in Thailand and Mr. Chang's boss.
He was voiced by Anders Matthesen in the original Danish version, and by Brendan McDonald in the English dub.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
Checkered Ninja[]
- He runs a toy factory in Thailand (Basically an illegal one), where he makes dozens of children, at least one of which is a toddler, work painstakingly on dolls and other toys in harsh conditions. He claims that he can get away with this because it is expected for children to work in Thailand.
- He also beats the children whenever they slip-up, even over the smallest mistakes. In one instance, he asked a girl to bring him a glass of water, only to find that the water was contaminated because of the poor conditions of the workplace. He knew why this happened in the first place, and yet, he ordered Mr. Chang to beat her with a stick.
- In another instance, Mr. Chang started to beat Quang just because the latter accidentally used Philip's scarf to make a doll. While Philip did ask Mr. Chang to stop the beating, he only did it so could beat Quang down himself, and he did so to the point it killed Quang, before spitting on his corpse. This would lead to Checkered Ninja's spirit possessing the doll made with Philip's scarf, returning to life as the Checkered Ninja.
Checkered Ninja 2[]
- While this film implies that he developed PTSD after he was falsely accused of smuggling cocaine, this does not detract from any of his crimes, especially since he uses underhanded tactics to get out in the movie when he realizes that him killing Quang will become known to the law.
- When he is arrested for being involved in a drug dealership, he planned to have his henchmen Jimmy eradicate all evidence against him and get released. Doing this would have involved him burning the doll which contained the soul of an actual ninja who accused him of smuggling cocaine, as well as having his own assistant Mr. Chang murdered so that he can take the children that worked in his factory, and murder them too to get rid of all witnesses to his crimes.
- He locks Alex and Ninja, as well as one of his assistants Jasper, into a room with a bomb that was about to explode out of fear that they all might incriminate him for his crimes.
- When he tries to kill child Honey Bee in a restaurant, he blacks out the entire restaurant and releases venomous snakes onto it in order to kill every possible witness there.
- He tried to kidnap Honey Bee to murder her where no one could see him do the act, although Honey Bee was able to escape.
- He tried to shoot Alex in the face when he tried to defend Honey Bee, and only didn't because Sean knocked him out with his drone.
- He tried to choke Alex to death, and would have done so had Honey Bee not had stopped him.
Trivia[]
- The scene where he killed Quang was censored in several countries, with those versions saying that Quang was just severely injured instead of being killed, and several of his actions are also censored and downplayed as well (he doesn't have a young girl beaten up for giving him a contaminated glass of water).
