Peter Ludlow is the main antagonist of the 2010 non-canon Jurassic Park: Redemption comic book miniseries.
Unlike his movie counterpart, this version of Ludlow survives the events of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and teams up with Lewis Dodgson to get revenge for what was done to him. Under the fake alias of Mr. Would, he would help Tim Murphy build a new Jurassic Park, secretly trying to use it to fulfill his desire to end John Hammond's name and legacy.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
The Lost World: Jurassic Park[]
- He bribed officials and ruined Ian Malcolm's reputation after he tried to tell the truth about InGen.
- Firing his uncle, John Hammond from InGen when he didn'T want InGen to exploit the dinosaurs of Isla Sorna any further.
- Sending a missionary team to Isla Sorna to capture several dinosaurs from there, more specifically a Tyrannosaurus rex, which resulted in numerous deaths and eventually the T. rex breaking out into San Diego (which lead to the events of Jurassic Park III as well). Unlike the canon counterpart, who was remorseful about his action, this incarnation has lost his empathy, and all of his redeeming qualities in general.
Jurassic Park: Redemption[]
- After being heavily scarred by a baby T. rex and barely surviving, he becomes obsessed with revenge and pretends to be a man called Mr. Would, seeking to help his nephew Tim build a new Jurassic Park. He would request for several carnivore dinosaurs to be created, as his true plan was to release dinosaurs into the public so that dozens of people could die across countless cities, framing Tim for the crime and ruining Hammond's name. This would cause InGen to collapse, allowing its competitor Biosyn to take over.
- Showed no care about the fact Lewis Dodgson tortured dinosaurs or killed Henry Wu by releasing a Gracilisuchus.
- Had Dodgson shock and knock out Mr. Backer as a way to show him who's in charge.
- Once Dodgson releases the dinosaurs and Tim is captured, he reveals himself to him and sadistically taunts him about his sister Lex would be one of the victims.
- He also shows a misogynistic side when he calls Ian Malcolm's wife a "whore".
- Makes it clear he never cared for any member of his family and joined Hammond's operation only for the profits he could gain.
- While he tried to keep Tim alive, he makes it clear it's only to frame him, and so that he could watch the carnage and "fully appreciate" Ludlow's work.
- During the dinosaur rampage he and Dodgson caused, a Giganotosaurus comes incredibly close to charging inside a nuclear power plant and causing a nuclear explosion. While it's not what Ludlow wanted to happen, he's still responsible for it.
- Despite his rather horrific situation, as he was mauled by a T. rex, he isn't played for sympathy even once.
- Shows zero care for Dodgson, even if they are working together.
- As he already has low competition due to the fact only the first three Jurassic Park films are canon to this storyline, he easily passes the Heinous Standards as he was willing to have anywhere from dozens to hundreds of people die just to get revenge for something he brought on himself.
Trivia[]
- This version of Peter Ludlow serves as a possible reminder for what the canon version could've become had he survived long enough.
