From the ashes... A new age, Enlightened. The flame burns bright... must make it to the gate. Flight leaving soon...
~ Owen Cage muttering a Liberation prophecy while also confused about his flight.
The Fire inside, I Never imagined it would... so bright! I am the flame, master, the spark that will ignite the new age of enlightenment
~ Owen Cage

Owen Cage is one of the two secondary antagonists in HITMAN: Patient Zero campaign (alongside Sister Yulduz) and the final antagonist in the campaign, serving as the main antagonist in its final mission, also named Patient Zero.

He is one of the sleeper agents of the doomsday cult "Liberation" and the one who develops the Nabazov virus, being the campaign's titular Patient Zero of Nabazov Virus.

He was voiced by Timothy Watson, who also voiced Mumkhar in Xenoblade Chronicles.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Was an Eco-warrior/terrorist who wanted environmental collapse through extreme measures, he also exposed conspiracy theories under the alias "Black Tide".
  • Believes in the Elder's of Zion, a false anti-Semitic document.
  • Was also a virus researcher working for Ether biotech company before he resigned or retired
  • Joined the Liberation Cult and developed the infectious hemorrhagic Nabazov virus with the cult leader Oybek Nabazov and planned to use it to infect the world. Because he made the virus, he is indirectly the cause of 3 bioterror attacks by fellow cult members.
    • Cage helped Oybek Nabazov and Sister Yulduz attempt to unleash the Nabazov virus in Bangkok until Oybek's death.
    • Craig Black and Bradley Paine attempted to use the virus on Sapienza
    • Bradley Paine infected 4 innocent soldiers in a military base to test its efficiency, which would have caused thousands of deaths.
  • After Oybek’s death as well as the sleeper Agents Oybek sent out by ICA Agent 47’s hands, Owen was the last one, and he Infected himself with the virus, so he can become its patient zero and spread the virus across the world and kill everyone which would have been a straight-up omnicide attempt for no reason other than nihilism.
  • First he was about to head to Sydney on a plane from Japan and infect everyone there and beyond but got apprehended by authorities at the airport for doing a suspicious cult ritual, and when the virus began taking effect & showing symptoms, Owen got escorted to the Hokkaido Gama Facility Hospital, where he was quarantined and placed under the care of Klaus Liebleid who cared more for weaponizing the Nabazov virus before Cage dies than caring for Cage himself.
  • Even at the hospital, he can still spread the virus through Agent 47 or an unprotected nurse, who can go on to infect the entire hospital of 141 people, in which Agent 47 has to put down to contain the spread.
  • He easily passes the high heinous standard of Hitman for attempting omnicide with a deadly virus and creating that very virus in the first place.
  • He was assumed to be insufficiently characterized to be Pure Evil, due to him being so delirious and pathetic to the point of not reacting to anything illegal Agent 47 does, like killing people or being at gunpoint. But, he is seen injecting himself with the virus and doing a cult ritual for 5 seconds in the mission briefing, also in his disinhibited state he is seen speaking Liberation cult prophecies & quotes which means he obviously still follows the Liberation cult ideals on the brink of death. He is also supposedly anti-Semitic since he believes in Elder's in Zion. Owen Cage is also seen being affable to the doctors at the hospital asking when he can go on his flight, but it remains unknown how genuine it is, especially considering his delirious state.
  • Although Klaus does give drugs to prolong the virus effects inside Owen to keep him alive but in constant suffering and agony as the virus took a major toll on Owen Cage to the point where he is weakened & delirious & doesn't react to anything, but it isn't played for sympathy and if anything Owen Cage does deserve it for what he's done and attempts to do.
