Onimi is a major antagonist in the Star Wars Legends alternate continuity, appearing as the main antagonist of the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order novel series, also known as the Yuuzhan Vong saga. He was a male Yuuzhan Vong Shamed One who was able to use the Force unlike most of his species, leading him to take control of Supreme Overlord Shimrra Jamaane and lead the invasion to the Star Wars galaxy, beginning the bloody Yuuzhan Vong War.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Took mental control of Supreme Overlord Shimrra Jamaane with his Force sensivity and led the Yuuzhan Vong invasion to the galaxy far, far away, desiring to be seen as the salvation of his people rather than actually caring for them.
- Orchestrated from behind the scenes the Yuuzhan Vong War, leading to trillions of deaths for both sides (including those of Chewbacca and Anakin Solo), the extinction of some species, the destruction of the New Republic and the conquest of several Republic-aligned worlds.
- Among the Vong's terrorist attacks, his cruel efforts notably brought about the Fall of Coruscant, in which the Yuuzhan Vong attacked the planet and performed a terrorist attack on it until most of the survivors evacuated the planet while one hundred billion of its inhabitants were killed or enslaved.
- To contain the supposed "Jeedai" heresy, initiated violent urges on the Yuuzhan Vong, killing them En masse and sending many loyal Vong on pointless endeavors throughout the war.
- Upon accusing Jacen and Jaina Solo of being the Vong gods he blamed for his afflictions after the twins killed his puppet ruler, announced his intentions to continue with the war to exterminate all life in the galaxy just so he can achieve godhood.
- He has possibly the highest kill count of any Star Wars villain, as the Yuuzhan Vong War was explcitly said to have killed about 365 trillion people, and was also said to have been the most devastating war in galactic history.
- Is partially responsible for Jacen falling to the Dark Side years later.
- While he certainly had a tragic backstory, he is far past it. Though he became a Shame One due the deformations he suffered for grabbing yammosk tissue to his brain in his experiments to fill his eight cortexes, it was his own fault and chose to blame his gods for it rather than accepting his responsability.
