| ~ Oliver G. Lobelia in a kind voice in Purgatory and sinister voice in Purgatory 2 |
Oliver G. Lobelia is one of the supporting characters in the 2017 video game Purgatory and the main antagonist of it's 2021 sequel Purgatory 2. He is one of Emma S. White's friends, who shows objection to the latter's decision of sending Enri Louvre into the Purgatory. In the second game, Purgatory 2, it is revealed that he is the member of House Lobelia, and is one of the members of Lobelia Corporation, a company that specializes in unethical experimentation including the creation of artificial demons for rather nefarious means.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Although, he is mostly bionic, he still has a human brain. He clearly has a moral understanding of what is right and wrong, especially shown in the first game. He could clearly live a good life if he wanted to since he is rich and well-liked by his friends.
- His organization murdered the King of the Royal Capital and replaced him with a flesh puppet, unknown to the public mass.
- He secretly imprisoned criminals to use for his experiments, regardless of how petty the crime was.
- He masterminded the events of the first game, using his friends to force the protagonist Enri into one of Lobelia's facilities controlled by a demon.
- He killed his best friend Lukas and disguised his corpse as himself to fake his death.
- He sends a horde of Demons to attack the Slum District just to kill one escaped employee who could risk spreading information about Lobelia. He feels no guilt for the countless lives and destruction he took.
- He sadistically taunts and plays around with Ebel and group instead of immediately killing them when they get trapped in Lobelia's facility, showing he takes immense gratitude in watching them struggle for their lives. He takes extreme joy in his sadism, even possibly on sexual levels. He uses his robotic powers and intelligence just to flex on the group and brag about his abilities.
- He treats his experiments with absolutely no concern for their well-being. To make it worse, these are former humans and some of them even still latch onto their emotions.
- The most notable example is Neun-02 or D-029, one of his more humane demons. He constantly stares at her naked body and uses her as a weapon to destroy the Royal Capital. After learning she has intelligence and emotions, instead of apologizing, he continues to treat her like a tool. He is very misogynistic towards her.
- His cruel treatment of them is also shown when he kills S-001 when he disobeys his orders and doesn't kill the protagonists.
- Although they were mostly criminals, he imprisoned civilians and had them trapped in a room with demons. He created false exits to give them hopes of escaping and watched this for his own sick entertainment.
- When his former friend Emma, cries and begs Oliver to stop his heinous acts and go back to the way they were before, he misogynistically calls her a foolish woman.
- His actions are seemingly fueled by his own sadism rather than loyalty to his corporation. He is willing to toy with his victims and spill classified secrets, potentially endangering the organization. This is not the kind of thing employees should do.
- He spends his last moments showing that he feels no regret for his heinous actions. Even after realizing how much Enri cared for him (by holding onto his knife the entire year) he still feels nothing but anger that he got defeated. He spends his last moment cursing out Ebel. Before his death, he also managed to shut down the entire lab in hopes of posthumously endangering the crew.

- Though he is currently Pure Evil, this could change if more is revealed about his origins in the Lobelia Corporation in future games.
