The Blackest Night falls from the skies, The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise, By my black hand, the dead shall rise!
~ The Black Lantern Oath.

Nekron is one of the main antagonists of DC Comics universe, being one of the foremost cosmic supervillains and dark gods originating in the DC universe.

He is mostly an enemy of the Green Lantern and Captain Atom, though his grand scale could very well put him in league with any of DC's big villains if he ever succeeded in his goals. He is the main antagonist in the Blackest Night event.

It is confirmed by DC that Nekron is not, as was thought, the personification of Death directly, but in fact the embodiment of Black, the little-understood conceptual energy of death, that opposed the light of creation and once claimed the living universe before being driven off by the being that introduced the White Light of creation. This being is The Life Entity, and Nekron is its direct counterpart.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He recreates Krona as a being of immense power and sends him along with an army of similarly empowered spirits to kill the Guardians of the Universe.
  • He started a Zombie Apocalypse called the Blackest Night.
  • He is revealed to be the one behind the events of the Blackest Night and the trapping of the Anti-Monitor in the Black Lanters power battery.
  • He threatens to expose the Guardians' greatest secret. That secret being that the White Light Entity, which triggered existence itself.
  • He slays one of the Guardians of the Universe and attempts to smite the entity with his scythe.
