Nazo is the main antagonist of the Sonic: Nazo Unleashed trilogy and its sequel Sonic: The Return of Nazo, along with the upcoming work, Sonic: The Wrath of Nazo. He is a murderous hedgehog born from the negative energy of the Chaos Emeralds and planned to destroy the planet along with the Master Emerald in order to become the strongest thing in the world.
He was voiced by Edwyn Tiong, who also played Sir Benedict Cumbersnatch in Sunset Paradise.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- While he was born from negative energy, Dark Sonic, who was influenced by it, can do good by trying to avenge his fallen comrades. However, he'd calmed himself down knowing that killing isn't the way to go unless it's the only option. (Even Eggman himself stopped Dark Sonic from crossing a line back on Sonic X). Nazo has no excuse as his motivations are driven by ego as he planned to destroy the Master Emerald which gave birth to him along with the entire planet, proving that he has moral agency.
Nazo Unleashed[]
- He sent Angel Island down from the sky again by stealing the Master Emerald.
- After stealing a Chaos Emerald by breaking into a store, he destroyed Downtown Metropolis for fun, killing thousands of people.
- He severely injured Knuckles and Shadow through combat.
- He nearly killed Sonic after slamming him through the Earth.
- He mortally injured Tails by blasting a destructive laser at him at contact range. This most likely temporarily killed Tails. It also caused Sonic to transform into Dark Super Sonic so the blue hedgehog could kill Nazo out of hatred and he would've succeed if Tails haven't appeared in a flashback.
- He planned to destroy the entire planet in order to destroy the Master Emerald. His reason for doing this is because the Master Emerald is the only thing that can ever be stronger than him.
- He decimated Super Sonic and Super Shadow as Perfect Nazo by blasting them at contact range. He even toyed with them by slamming Shadow into Sonic who were both heavily beaten and weakened by him and then taunted them.
- He planned to destroy the universe for fun after he was done with his plan.
- He absorbed the energy Hyper Shadic gave to the emeralds in order to become Hyper Nazo, showing that he can exponentially become stronger and give himself more power to become even more destructive in nature.
- He shows no signs of redemption and even tried to blow up the Earth again after being sent to the void upon his defeat.
The Wrath of Nazo[]
- He absorbs the Master Emerald, turning into Chaos Nazo, and destroyes Metal Nazo.
- He instant Super Sonic and attempts to finish him off until he was interviened by his Metal Sonic.
- He destroyed Metal Sonic and attempts to kill Knuckles and the group.
- He absorbed Sonic's super form and drained enough energy to take away Sonic's speed temporary, which caused Sonic to freak out.
- He flew to Angel Island to retrive the Master Emerald.
- He attempted to drain Shadow of his energy and managed to take away his Chaos Control.

- Nazo the Hedgehog is, alongside Turbo Mecha Sonic, one of the two Sonic the Hedgehog Pure Evils to come from fan made Newgrounds Works.
- Nazo the Hedgehog is based off of scrapped Super Sonic from early pilot of Sonic X, who appeared for a few seconds.
