~ Mr. Wriggles taunting Jack |
Mr. Wriggles is the main antagonist of the supernatural found footage horror film Late Night with the Devil.
What Makes It Pure Evil?[]
- Prior to the film's main events, Mr. Wriggles would appear before Jack Delroy and would help him achieve his dreams of having the highest ratings that would eclipse the likes of Johnny Carson. However, it would do so at the cost of his beloved wife Madeline's life. Once the deal was struck, Madeline would become stricken with lung cancer and die two weeks after her appearance on Night Owls.
- Sometime after the mass suicide of the cult that worshiped him, the demon would possess Lilly D'Abo, who would prefer to refer to him as "Mr. Wriggles" due to his habit of wriggling into her body.
- When Lilly is brought on the show, Mr. Wriggles mocks Jack, reminding him they met each other amongst the tall trees. This is a reference to the Bohemian Club, an all-male secret society where the elites are believed to perform satanic rituals while discussing their influence on the world at large.
- When Christou, a practitioner of cold reading, felt his presence, he imbued him with deep agony, up to and including causing him to projectile vomit black goo. Christou would die on the route to Mount Sinai Hospital.
- Mr. Wriggles takes complete control over Lilly and brutally executes the cast. He telekinetically strangles Dr. June-Ross Mitchell with a beaded necklace, sets Carmichael the Conjurer on fire (not before burning the check he had in spite), and rotates Gus McConnell's head 180 degrees.
- As Jack tries to escape, Mr. Wriggles sends him to a nightmarish reality where he relives all the events in his talk show.
- Mr. Wriggles presumably makes Jack think he was stabbing the visage of his wife, only for it to be revealed that he had stabbed Lilly to death, leaving it uncertain if it is truly dead or not. The film ends with the sirens blaring in the distance, implying that Jack would get arrested for the murders committed by Mr. Wriggles.
