~ Mr. Renner siccing the Fazbear Fan Club on Robbie. |
Mr. Renner is a minor antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's: Tales from the Pizzaplex anthology novel series, serving as the main antagonist of "Animatronic Apocalypse".
He is the ambiguously-human former principal of Durham Elementary. Through unknown means, Renner manages to brainwash the members of the Fazbear Fan Club into following his instructions and preparing for the Animatronic Apocalypse, the club's Dungeons and Dragons-styled game.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Through means currently unknown, Mr. Renner manages to brainwash all members of the Fazbear Fan Club (except Zabrina Zee, who's implied to be more willing) into following orders, which eventually spreads into him having control over the entire school and beyond. He makes the members of the fan club do several disgusting things, which include eating dirt and later beetles, poking needles under their fingernails, and eventually burying themselves alive, for no given reason. The children proceed to have memory loss following their brainwashing.
- It's also implied that the children are somewhat aware of their surroundings or at least can briefly break out of the brainwashing, as a student briefly tries to stop following Mr. Renner's orders and not eat a bug, but is pressured into it by Zabrina.
- The narration lists six named children "and a few more" lying in the dirt pile, which means Mr. Renner also has a big attempted kill count.
- He wanted to take away money from his students' parents by having them raise funds to fight back against the "animatronic apocalypse", something completely fictional that wouldn't actually happen.
- When Robbie entered his house, worried for the safety of his classmates, he has the children brutally beat him up and then tries to kill him with his own hands.
- While it is implied Renner is not a human, this was never fully confirmed and would not affect his moral agency in any way. Not to mention the most likely option is that he's an animatronic, and we see in Security Breach that they have full moral agency.
- While it was implied at the start of the story that Mr. Renner was also brainwashed by whatever's controlling the children, this was a minor one-off moment and was never confirmed, and thus is not a prevention. It should also be noted that he still takes an interest in his crimes.
- While child murder is rather common for the series, Mr. Renner still stands out with his brutal way of trying to kill them, as burying alive wasn't done before in the franchise.
- Even without that, "Animatronic Apocalypse" is apparently a non-canon story that doesn't take place in the main universe, and thus Renner has no known competition besides his right hand, Zabrina, who is obviously less heinous than him.
- As it's implied he survived the events of the story, it's likely he got away with no punishment for his crimes.
Trivia[]
- It's implied Mr. Renner is connected to or maybe even is Eleanor. If that was to be confirmed, both of them would become even worse.
