~ Monika seemingly singing about her ventures to assure the player's affection |
Monika is the main antagonist of The Stupendium fan song Why Did I Say Okie Dokie? based on the horror visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club. Unlike her original counterpart, who is a tragic character wanting to just find love, this version is an envious rival who is obsessed over the player.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Unlike her original counterpart, she doesn’t have any Freudian Excuse, as while it’s implied she had gone insane after realizing she was in a video game, it appears to be omitted from this version and is not shown to have any sympathetic moments nor any focus to make it redeeming.
- She grew to be jealous over her school friends Yuri, Sayori, and Natsuki and decided to mess with their code to make them less desirable.
- Forcibly had Sayori hang herself and deleted her code before wiping the player’s memory clean.
- Forcibly killed Yuri and Natsuki as well, having Yuri stab herself and deleting Natauki’s coding.
- Trapped The Stupendium within the video game world itself and manipulated them to stay there permanently, making it seem like she was lonely to keep them with her forever, although they managed to escape somehow.
- While originally seeming sympathetic, with the Player saying how she looks sad and lonely when seeing her, it turns out to have been manipulation as at the end of the song the Player notes that she “seemed” so sad and lonely.
- While only having a few lines of dialogue, she has enough personality thanks to the rest of the song's lyrics characterizing her as an obsessive, jealous, and manipulative computer program.
- While she is said to be in love with the Player, her actions make it clear that it is nothing more than obsession, with the player themselves even noting this.
- After killing off all her friends to be with the player, she usurps full control over the universe.
Trivia[]
- This is the second Pure Evil of Monika from a fan-made song, the first being the Madame Macabre version. Interestingly, both Stupendium and Madame Macabre are related with horror genre.
- It possible that between "WHY DID I SAY OKIE DOKI?" and "The Aftermath" she was deleted, as the beginning of the latter song shows that Stupendium managed to escape her somehow. If this will ever be confirmed, she would become one of two Stupendium Pure Evils that got a karma, alongside Elliot Ludwig.
