| ~ Momoshiki to Boruto when seeing the Jougan before his death |
Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki is the main antagonist of the Boruto manga/anime series.
He is a high-ranking member of the Ōtsutsuki clan and his ultimate goal is to gain power by consuming the Chakra fruit, created from the lives of beings in the planets he destroys. After his demise, he implanted a Karma on Boruto Uzumaki for his resurrection and continues to possess the boy.
He is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa in the Japanese version, and Xander Mobus in the English dub, the latter also voices Vassago Casals in Sword Art Online.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Before coming to Earth, he destroyed at least one (and likely more than one) planet in order to gain more power.
- Allowed Kinshiki to attempt to kill Sasuke Uchiha for wandering on their territory.
- In the anime, he and his comrades attacked Killer B and stole his Eight-Tailed beast from him.
- He came to Earth with the intention of killing everyone to create the chakra fruit and obtain more power.
- He is willing to kill members of his own family, as he consumed Kinshiki in order to obtain power and felt no remorse for his death.
- When Naruto called Momoshiki out for his monstrously vile behavior, Momoshiki took no blame, insisting they were all just as much a monster as him and that it was Kinshiki's will to be sacrificed to his foster son as Momoshiki revealed this is the law of the Otsutsuki.
- He attacked the Chuunin exams, not caring about children and civilians, in order to capture Naruto. He intended to unleash a powerful attack upon the village which would have likely killed everyone within multiple miles radius if Naruto had not stopped his attack.
- He tried to murder Naruto in order to take the power of Kurama from him. He does this by taking away Kurama's chakra from Naruto's body which cause immense pain to Naruto.
- After death, he planned on resurrecting through Boruto via the karma. He also prophesized to Boruto that his blue eyes will one day take everything away from him.
- While possessing Boruto, he mercilessly kills Boro, though Boro absolutely deserved it given his actions.
- Once Isshiki's life expires, Momoshiki uses the opportunity and takes control of Boruto to stab Sasuke's Rinnegan and destroying his eye, preventing him from using his space-time ninjutsu.
- After Isshiki's death, he attempted to copy Isshiki's plan of having Boruto fed to the Divine Tree, instead planning to have Kawaki fed to the Divine Tree in order to create a new chakra fruit.
- While confronting Code, Momoshiki once again gains control of Boruto's body. He attempts to kill Code, but soon decides to make a temporary alliance with him to try and get revenge on Naruto and his allies by attempting to kill them.
- Though he does save Boruto from his life-threatening injuries inflicted by Kawaki, warns him that Code would sacrifice him to the Ten-Tails now that he'd completely become an Ōtsutsuki and gives suspicious information about Amado, he only does this to save himself and ensure his spirit remained alive through Boruto. It is also heavily implied that he wishes to see Boruto suffer, as the event he foretold him after his death is getting closer.
Trivia[]
- Him and Isshiki are the only Pure Evil members of the Ōtsutsuki clan.
- While he did not kill Kawaki, Sarada and Mitsuki while they were unconscious, this was likely due to Momoshiki running out of energy or wanting to save their deaths for later to make Boruto suffer.
