Missy Armitage is a major antagonist in the 2017 horror film Get Out. As a member of the Order of Coagula, she helps her husband Dean forcibly implant cult members' brains in the bodies of Black people by hypnotizing them.

She was portrayed by Catherine Keener.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?

• She is a member of the Order of Coagula, a cult that kidnaps Black people and forcibly implants their brains into members' bodies in order to achieve immortality.
• She hypnotizes the cult's victims and sends them to the "Sunken Place", where they will be captive inside their own bodies forever.
• She and her husband Dean employ their daughter Rose to seduce black men and bring them home to "harvest".
• She and Dean employ their son Jeremy to kidnap Andre Hayworth so they can implant his brain in Logan King's body.
• While she is polite and friendly to Rose's new boyfriend, Chris Washington, she makes several subtly condescending and bigoted remarks.
  • She makes a subtle dig at Chris implying that she does not think he is good enough for her daughter.
• While she helps Chris give up smoking, that was just so he wouldn't poison his body for his upcoming host, Jim Hudson. This was later on confirmed in an interview with Jordan Peele.
• She sends him to the "Sunken Place" in the guise of helping him quit smoking with hypnotherapy, which brings up his childhood trauma.
• She hypnotizes Hayworth again when he breaks free of King's control.
• Along with Dean, she auctions Chris off to the highest bidding cult member as if he were a slave.
• She hypnotizes Chris when he tries to get away.
• She tries to hypnotize Chris to put him under so Dean and Jeremy can harvest his brain.

Trivia

• While one could argue that her hypnotizing Chris into giving up smoking was out of kindness to one of the members so they would have a suitable body, more than likely it's only done to fulfill her racist motives.
