Miles Jackson is the main antagonist of the 2009 film 12 Rounds.
He is an infamous worldwide terrorist known for committing numerous heinous crimes that resulted in him being on the FBI's Most Wanted list. Eventually arrested and put in prison but not before witnessing his girlfriend, Erica Kessen, dying by being ran over by the car, he seemingly seeks revenge against Officer Danny Fisher by kidnapping his girlfriend Molly Porter and setting up a twisted and dangerous game named "12 Rounds".
He was portrayed by Aidan Gillen, who also played Petyr Baelish in Game of Thrones.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He committed numerous crimes before the events of the film, such as shooting down Trans Atlantic Flight 212, which was filled with innocent civilians, bombing the embassy in Frankfurt, and beheading his own brother for screwing a deal they were making in Tangiers.
- He sold weapons to numerous terrorists in the world, with one using them to down a jumbo plane filled with people when George Aiken failed to stop one of his deals years ago.
- He murdered Samuel by stabbing him in the stomach, even though he had helped him escape the FBI because Samuel would've sold him out to the FBI regardless to gain his and his brother Joshua's freedom if Miles didn't trick Samuel, the latter also being killed while he was in prison.
- He killed several security guards, took his prison warden hostage, and abandoned nearly all of the prisoners which he released to be sent back to prison.
- Seemingly blaming Officer Danny Fisher for his girlfriend's death, he kidnapped his own girlfriend, Molly Porter, and proceeded to blow up Fisher's house and car to begin the 12 Rounds, resulting in Phil the plumber being killed off in the process.
- The "12 Rounds" that Miles conceived and played put Fisher, Molly, and dozens of civilians in multiple dangerous situations per round, with these being some of the worst:
- In round 5, he made Fisher and the other officers go to the savings bank in New Orleans, only to show them two safety deposit boxes and reveal that he placed an explosive in one of the boxes that will kill anyone around him if Fisher doesn't throw it into the sea in less than 7 minutes, also setting the savings bank, which was filled with dozens of civilians in flames, endangering everyone inside as well.
- In round 6, he gave Fisher and his partner Willie 60 seconds to escape an elevator, where only one of them can survive. Before Fisher can have enough time to save Willie, Miles collapses the elevator 5 seconds earlier than he promised and Willie gruesomely died as a result.
- In round 7, he placed a bomb on Molly's chest, which will activate if Jackson stops pressing his cell phone for 10 seconds, which will do two things; Molly's death after a 7-centimeter nail goes through her heart and 30 seconds later, an explosion that will kill everyone on the bus. In fact, that would have happened if FBI agents hadn't tried to kill him.
- In round 8, he placed several explosives in various devices scattered around the city, forcing Fisher to choose between five numbers (only one of which would guarantee a instant victory against Miles) and if Fisher doesn't choose any number, all those devices will explode, killing many civilians.
- He deactivated the brakes of tram 907 when Fisher chose the wrong number, threatening to crash it and kill not only those who were inside, but also many civilians who are in the way, including a vast fair gathering.
- He activated a bomb that was in a welding factory, killing both Fisher's best friend Hank Carver and Miles' main henchman Anthony Deluso.
- Although at first his objective seemed to be solely to take revenge on Fisher for the death of his girlfriend, it is eventually revealed that he was using her death as an excuse to distract from his true plan to successfully rob the entire city of its mint, killing two security guards inside.
- He forced Molly to use her job as a nurse to get into her hospital, killing two more guards, and get on a hospital helicopter with the purpose of forcing Molly with a gun near her head to take him to Tahiti, taking all the money for himself.
- Once he was beaten by Fisher, he activated a bomb that will detonate in 30 seconds to destroy the helicopter and kill himself, Fisher, and Molly to deny the heroes their victory.
- While he does seem to get along with Erica and got mad at her death, it's likely them bonding was out of mutual sadism, and him getting mad at her death was simply getting mad at losing an accomplice.
