I'm assuming you all know your places now? There is no hope in attempting to defeat me. You were all f-cked the second you put your feet on this island.
~ Mikado after executing Rei Mekaru.

Mikado Sannoji is the main antagonist of the Korean Danganronpa fangame Super Danganronpa Another 2: The Moon of Hope and the Sun of Despair, which is the second and final installment of the Danganronpa Another fangame duology by LINUJ.

He is an artificial intelligence created by Kokoro Kurokawa/Kokoro Mitsume as a replica of human Mikado's personality, and becomes the Mastermind who controls the Neo World Program. His goal is to replicate the Killing Game experienced by the class of 79 in order to resurrect Utsuro and steal his Divine Luck.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • As an Alter-Ego, he has moral agency and has fully control over his actions, as the game makes it clear that he's highly intelligent and was made to replicate the human brain.
  • While he starts out as a butt-monkey with many comedic moments, he gradually loses all of his comedic traits and becomes a more serious threat. After he revealed his form as a glitched monster in the finale, he is taken dead seriously.
  • Although he has much lower kill counts than Utsuro and Kanade Otonokoji, it is unfair to compare him with them, as he is an artificial intelligence created much more recently, and managed to cause as much damage as he can in his limited lifespan.

Background[]

  • He used digitally stolen funds to hire Syobai Hashimoto, a professional criminal who only cares about money and his own life, to murder the human Mikado and pose as him to the other Voids and Kokoro.
  • He had Kokoro Kurokawa destroy Yuki Maeda's body while still keeping his mind alive inside the virtual world.
  • Transformed Yuri, a A.I designated to help people, into Monocrow, a robot that executes culprits and people who violate the rules in brutal ways.
  • Ordered Syobai to kidnap several people who were considered "Symbols of Hope" and trap them in the Virtual World. Then he and the Voids started a killing game in the virtual world, where whoever was killed in the virtual world would also die in real life.

During the Killing Game[]

  • At the start of the game, he presented himself as a mysterious person who would be an ally of the others. This facade was put to an end to when Kisaragi Foundation members Rei Mekaru and Teruya Otori showed up and told him to surrender, revealing that he was the one in charge. He also attempted to kill Rei and Teruya, but the former managed to escape, while the latter survived but is still trapped inside.
  • He ordered the Voids to kill the participants of the killing game, lying that they would get away with it even if they were found out, but in reality, he had Monocrow execute a Void every time they killed someone.
  • Although he appeared to be shocked at Kanade Otonokoji's brutal murder style, which seems like that he has some standard, he later praised her for her actions and said that she would have made a good member of Void, telling the surviving members of Void that they should learn from her example.
  • He would sadistically torment Teruya by modeling his islands and locations after the latter's friends, who were killed in the Class of '79 killing game; these include statues of Satsuki Iranami and Haruhiko Kobashikawa, and an entire city named after Mitsuhiro Higa.
  • After Nikei betrayed him, Mikado added a new rule that you cannot betray the Void, forcing Monocrow to execute Nikei for breaking the rules. Even worse is that the rule was implemented after Nikei betrayed them, which means he hasn't actually broken the rule due to it being non-existent when it happened.
  • He converted Teruya's body into a firewall that prevented members of the Kisaragi Foundation outside the virtual world from entering to try and save the remaining survivors inside.
  • He gave Iroha Nijiue some fake poison (which is actually salt) to murder Teruya Otori, while he himself was indirectly responsible for Teruya's death. By framing Iroha as the culprit in the class trial, he tried to get all the participants executed except for himself, and only failed because the virtual world glitched during their executions.
  • He hacked the Kisaragi Foundation's facility and locked all the doors, imprisoning all the executives inside, then told them that he would only unlock the doors if Yoruko, Iroha, Tsurugi, and Rei entered the virtual world again.
  • After the Class Trial concluded in a Graduation, he tried to trap all of them into a virtual utopia, where they would think they were living a normal life but were actually still stuck in the Neo World Program.
  • While he seemingly had a redeeming quality of his affection to Utsuro, he later subverted it when he tried to kill Utsuro to steal his Divine Luck immediately after his resurrection. It was even noted by Sora that unlike the human Mikado who genuinely admired Utsuro, the Alter-Ego only sought to be lik him and steal him Divine Luck for himself.
  • Nearly succeeded in breaking Yuki Maeda's mind by killing his friends, and tried to hijack Akane Taira's comatose body in order to escape into the real world.
  • After his plans failed completely, he attempts to kill the protagonists one last time, before being shot down by Tsurugi.

Trivia[]

  • Only the Alter-Ego version of Mikado qualifies as Pure Evil, as the human Mikado Sannoji (who has been killed and replaced by AE Mikado) is not responsible for the evil deeds that AE Mikado has done, as well as only doing white-collar crimes such as money laundering and theft. The human Mikado is also much more affable and truly cares about his savior Utsuro.
    • Coincidentally, this is exactly the opposite case to Kokoro Kurokawa, since Kokoro is Near Pure Evil in the real world, but not Near Pure Evil in the killing game.
  • He and Kanade Otonokoji are the only two Pure Evils in the Danganronpa Another series. Interestingly, they both featured in the same installment; Super Danganronpa Another 2.
