Mephistopheles is the main antagonist of the 2021 Mario & Luigi fanfiction Mario & Luigi: Darkest Timeline. He is a demon of unknown origin who is responsible for the creation of the titular "Darkest Timeline" after he murdered Princess Peach and used her death to manipulate Emperor Bowser into taking over the Mushroom Kingdom.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- At some unspecified point, he murdered Princess Peach and used her death to manipulate Bowser by making him think the Mario Brothers killed Peach.
- Gave Bowser a power boost to his army causing him to wage a massive genocidal war on the Mushroom Kingdom that ended up wiping out nearly all the Toads.
- When Emperor Bowser is starting to get overwhelmed by the rebels. Mephistopheles seeing this as a failure on Bowser's part murders him and plans to show his son no mercy.
- Plans to use the time machine from the past to travel back in time and reshape reality as he sees fit, not caring about the possibility of wiping out billions of universes as a result.
- Gets a Toad killed during the final battle.
- Has no excuse for his actions other than simply because he could do it.
