Megicula is one of the overarching antagonists of the Black Clover franchise.
She is the overarching antagonist in Noelle Silva's backstory, and later as one of the main antagonists of the second saga. She is one of the most pivotal antagonists in the entire series, due to being associated with the death of Acier Silva, making her the arch-enemy of House Silva, mainly towards Noelle and Nozel Silva.
She is the highest-ranking devil who serves Vanica Zogratis, a member of the Spade Kingdom's Dark Triad. She acts as a replacement and the successor of Astaroth, who vanished from the underworld twenty years ago. She was the one who had placed lethal curses on Acier Silva and Princess Lolopechka, and made a pact with Agrippa Family.
She is voiced by Genki Muro in Japanese, who also voiced Baro in the same series. In the English version, she is voiced by Christopher Corey Smith.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- She is known for having a twisted habit of placing lethal curses on others just to satiate her sadistic curiosity and amusement. Some of her curses come off as lethally horrific and poisonous as seen with an example of her Exploding Blood magic used by Vanica.
- She made contact and a deal with the Dark Triad, granting them their abilities upon possessing one of them, which Vanica was her host and willingly assist Lucifero's motives of releasing all Devils from the Tree of Qliphoth and its gates. She would also be indirectly responsible for Vanica's worst crimes when given those abilities, such as attacking the Clover Kingdom to test out her newly-found powers, raiding the Heart Kingdom, and later blowing up her own henchmen using Exploding Blood.
- During Vanica's fight with Acier Silva, the mother of Noelle Silva, she directly cursed her with her magic, one which the victim will die if her name is ever mentioned, and later caused her death.
- Because of this, Megicula is the sole reason Noelle has been mistreated, abused, bullied, and looked down upon by her older siblings, Solid and Nebra, due to blaming her birth to be the cause of it and growing up having a very terrible childhood.
- She also cursed Nozel Silva to prevent him from ever telling the truth about the cause of his mother's death, thus rendering him unable to do anything about the situation he is in and especially allowing Noelle's mistreatment to continue, although for a reason he thought was for her own good.
- Even after she died, Megicula would keep her soul imprisoned as part of her plan to manifest herself fully in the future.
- She had Vanica cast a curse on Lolopechka out of spite, which this curse would seize her death in the next following months. In actuality, she targeted her to be one of the few sacrifices for her manifestation.
- She aided Vanica in battle by using her Curse-Warding Magic, which critically injured Noelle, Secre, and Lolopechka, followed by lethally cursing Undyne just for her own sadistic curiosity. She then agreed to take Lolopechka hostage afterward.
- She manifested and took control of Vanica, likely killed her in doing so (though she deserved it), before intending to sacrifice her alongside a brainwashed Lolopechka and Acier's soul to complete her manifestation.
- Mocked Noelle's determination and later tried to use Lolopechka as a bomb using Exploding Blood to not only wipe out the Magic Knights but also the Spade Kingdom's populace, which could've furthered the ritual sacrifice of the Tree of Qliphoth and unleashed countless devils to commence laying waste on the human world. This would've happened immediately had Asta not saved Lolopechka by the last second.
- Attempted to kill Noelle using her Decaying World spell that summoned large spikes directed at her, only to be saved at the last second by Nozel.
- Her partnership with Lucifero and Beelzebub is likely more superficial and pragmatic than genuinely working together. While she does get along well with her host Vanica, the relationship between the two is more mutual than genuine, not to mention she was willing to use her for her own needs of manifesting herself.
- She has Moral Agency like Zagred and Lucifero despite being a demon, as she is not only capable of understanding her actions but has an intellectual interest in her own magic to demonstrate this, albeit a sadistic one at heart.
- Her final moments of acknowledging the fact she was interested in human emotions are ingenuine. These interests are likely based on her sadistic interpretation of her own curiosity for humans and underestimating the Silva siblings' strength was not out of respect for them but rather her own arrogance and ego shattered before her.
