| NOTE: This page is only about the Decepticon campaign and Decepticons (DS) incarnations of Megatron as both his original Autobot campaign and Autobots (DS) incarnations were not voted Pure Evil, and thus only the Decepticon campaign and Decepticons (DS) versions of Megatron's info and crimes should be put here. |

Megatron is the main protagonist of the Decepticon campaign of Transformers: The Game and the overarching protagonist of Transformers Decepticons.
He is the extremely powerful, destructive, and warmongering leader of the Decepticons who started a civil war on Cybertron which turned the planet into a wasteland and he is now hell-bent on destroying humankind and the Earth. His cause has led to him coming into conflict with his former brother-in-arms and archenemy, Optimus Prime.
While his villainy is a bit generic in both the Autobot campaign and Autobots (DS) due to them telling their own version of the film's plot, both the Decepticon campaign and Decepticons (DS) makes him crueller and more sadistic while his actions are more unique, allowing him to stand out much more.
He was voiced by Frank Welker, who also voiced the Kandarian Demon in The Evil Dead, the Red Death in How to Train Your Dragon, Unicron (while possessing Megatron) in Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising, the Windigo in the film of the same name.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- He started a devastating civil war that destroyed Cybertron and claimed countless casualties on both the Autobots' and Decepticons' sides. He didn't even show any regret for destroying Cybertron at all.
- While he isn't shown abusing his subordinates heavily like in most continuities, he doesn't care for them as shown when he blatantly disregards some of his minions' deaths and overall seeks to conquer and destroy anything he wants for himself.
- Immediately ordered the extermination of all Autobots upon being reawakened by his minions on Earth, eventually succeeding in killing them all.
- Brutally murdered Optimus Prime by pulverizing his head with his flail (Console version)/beating and shooting him for getting in his way (DS version).
- Unlike his film counterpart who had a genuine extremist goal to restore Cybertron and cared about the Fallen and Starscream (to a lesser extent) here he lacks all of his redeeming qualities and is just a power hungry monster.
Console Exclusive[]
- Before their final battle, he tried to lure out Optimus Prime, who was protecting Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes, by causing mass chaos and destruction on Mission City, destroying buildings and killing hundreds to thousands of people via crushing them with his feet or mutilating them using his flail.
- He tried to murder every human in Mission City when fighting Optimus Prime who he had successfully lured out, killing several more innocents in the process.
- He merged with the AllSpark and razed the Earth by turning all electronics into Decepticons, turning most of the planet into a burning wasteland and enjoying said destruction.
- He ordered his minions to kill off what's left of humanity, before presumably moving on to conquer the rest of the galaxy.
- He fights and destroys all of the remaining Autobots on Cybertron and puts Optimus Prime's legacy in vain.
DS Exclusive[]
- He brutally killed Starscream for his betrayal (thought he definitely deserved it for gaslighting the Decepticons at thinking that he abandoned them out of spite when only did it to chase the AllSpark and for stealing both his leadership and the AllSpark for himself).
- He eats the sparks of his victims, as he told Jazz that he would have so much fun feasting on his Spark prior to killing him and he was even seen eating the Spark of the Create-A-Bot just because he was heavily damaged (all of that in spite of how loyal and helpful Create-A-Bot was to him). His excuse for doing so was that repairs are a waste of resources, and that the weak only serve to benefit the strong.
Trivia[]
- Only Megatron's Decepticon campaign and Decepticons (DS) incarnations can be considered Pure Evil, while his Autobot campaign and Autobots (DS) incarnations aren't because he doesn't have too much characterization aside from wanting to destroy and conquer and his villainy is a bit generic due to said campaigns telling their own versions of the film's plot.
- He's the only Pure Evil villain from Bayverse to come from a video game.
