“ | Tatsu: Akio is…Akio is…he’s gone. Maseo: Akio. Please wake up. Please wake up! Shrieve: He was dead the moment he was exposed. Oliver: But you said-- Shrieve: There is no cure. Oliver: Then what the hell is that?! Shrieve: Insulin. I’m diabetic. (smiles) I want to thank you for bringing me here. It would have taken us weeks to track you all down. And I do so hate loose ends. |

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Fearing China would be as a military and economic threat to America, he plotted its downfall with the Alpha-Omega virus. His claim of protecting America from the Chinese government falls completely flat and hypocritical considering his "solution" was by the means of genocide for his own xenophobic desires.
- Furthermore, not only do his actions not follow at all from his supposed motivations, but it turns out he doesn't even care about his fellow countrymen at all. When Oliver and Maseo break into his hideout and start massacring his troops, he hears his men's pleas on the radio and does absolutely nothing and abandons them to die at Oliver and Maseo's hands, not even getting taken aback and being completely unfazed when Oliver and Maseo smash a soldier through his door to confront him, proving him to not be the patriot he claims to be whatsoever, but instead a completely selfish hypocrite who wishes to commit genocide for his own xenophobic desires.
- He tricked Amanda Waller, Oliver Queen and Maseo Yamashiro into obtaining both portions of the Alpha-Omega so he could unleash it on Hong-Kong, lying to Oliver and Maseo that they would be freed from being forced to work for him and Waller once the mission was over and that he would personally ensure that they would get to go anywhere they wanted.
- Once he had the bioweapon, he kidnapped Waller and held her captive for weeks.
- He sent his men disguised as A.R.G.U.S agents to kill Oliver and the Yamashiro family and framed Waller to cover his tracks.
- He unleashed the bioweapon on Hong Kong, painfully killing 3,052 people with them dropping dead in the streets and causing the city to fall into complete chaos. He even went so for by having his men pretend to give out the cure to dozens of desperate civilians only to really be giving them doses of the virus to further its spread and kill as much civilians as possible.
- He lied to Oliver and Maseo that there was a cure to save Maseo's son Akio and once they arrived, but were too late and Akio was already dead, he cruelly taunted them that there was no hope for Akio as he was dead the moment he was exposed, sadistically smiling and sarcastically thanking the heroes for revealing their location so he and his men, who he secretly had follow him, could kill them all.
- While he is horribly tortured by Oliver before Maseo comes in and shoots him dead, it doesn't make him a scapegoat, as he deserved such torture after all he did no matter how much Tatsu was horrified for Oliver's actions.
- His actions in indirectly causing Akio Yamashiro's death irreparably shattered the Yamashiro family, as it led his father Maseo to join the League of Assassins and his mother Tatsu to become the vigilante Katana.
