NOTE: This page is only about his novel incarnation as the original TV incarnation of the character was not voted Pure Evil, and thus only the novel version of Masato Kusaka's info and crimes should be put here. |
Masato Kusaka is the villainous tritagonist of Kamen Rider 555, and the main antagonist of the novel adaptation Grotesque Flowers by Toshiki Inoue. Despite being one of the main characters, Kusaka frequently comes into conflict with the heroes due to his manipulative and sociopathic tendencies, as well as his hatred of all Orphnochs, and is only allied with the other protagonists due to their shared opposition to Smart Brain. The novelization takes it one step further.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Although his original counterpart is already a jerk and antagonist, he at least is an Anti-Hero with selfish yet well-meaning motives. The novel version portrayed him as a vile and manipulative bigot.
- He never loved Mari Sonoda, only seeing her as an object to possess, to the point of raping her, showing how far he can go.
- After raping her, he basically forces Mari to date him, threatening her and her loved ones if she refused.
- He viewed the Orphnochs as monstrous abominations which he declared to annihilate all of them, disregarding there are some good in them.
- After having a breakdown due to Mari breaking up with him, he shows his most psychotic side by gleefully attacking Yuji Kiba in front of Mari, telling her that those were the consequences of her actions.
- When he attempts to finish Kiba off, Mari intervenes and stops him, but this causes her to get injured in the process, after that happens, he doesn't even care about Mari's status, furthermore showing his lack of care towards her.
- Alongside other two kaixas, he brutally kills a pregnant Yuka by mutilating and stabbing her to death, with him doing this act mainly to spite Yuji Kiba, causing him to turn against the humans.
- Even though Masato didn't knew that Yuka was pregnant at the moment he killed her, when he eventually does, he doesn't even flinch nor feels remorse about this action.
- After being reborn as the Spider Orphnoch, his view of humanity drastically changes, with him now seeing humans as a problem, while thinking that the Orphnochs are the superior race.
- Due to this, he tries to ruin Mari's life once more after getting his own limbs ripped off by Kiba for what he did to Mari previously.
- He manipulates Yusuke (the son of Yuka and Keitaro) into trusting him, while also trying to get him in his side.
- When this ends up failing, a mad Kusaka decides to attack him and Mari from behind, and after doing this, he kidnaps Mari.
- When Mari tries to know why Kusaka did all of this, he simply says that she belongs only to him and that if he kills her, he will be able to absorb her so they can both live together as the same being.
- Even when Mari tries to stop him from doing this, Kusaka simply ignores her and continues with his act, with him Crucifying her in his spider-web and then apparently trying to rape her once more before killing her.
- While he attempts to reach for Mari's hand before he dies at the hands of Takumi, This is not played for sympathy, and it is left clear that Kusaka is just grieving that he didn't manage to complete his 'evolution' with Mari.
- While he does have a tragic past just like his original counterpart, it doesn't justify everything he had done.
