~ Marty Jay Williams bragging about how he raped a girl |
Martin "Marty" Jay Williams is a supporting antagonist in the 2006 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the tenth installment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
He is the racist redneck leader of the Trailer Park Mafia in Vice City, Florida around the early 1980s. Williams is married to Phil Cassidy's sister Louise, with whom he has a daughter, but he isn't an affectionate nor caring husband on the contrary, Marty savagely abuses Louise and is willing to hurt her as long that means profit for him.
He was voiced by Jim Burke.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- While he is believed to be an inbred, that doesn't excuse him of his crimes, as he's still intelligent enough to run his own gang and possess self-awareness.
- Is shown to be racist towards black people.
- Is very alcoholic, since he is often seen holding his alcohol and drinks from it all the time.
- Once raped a 14-year-old old girl because he liked her breasts, bragging to his henchmen about this later on.
- Prompted his girlfriend Louise Cassidy, Phil Cassidy's sister, to quit her studies despite her promising career after he impregnated her with their daughter Mary-Beth. However, Marty is shown to be a physically and psychologically abusive husband, yelling insults or death threats at Louise all the time and showing no kind of affection to his baby daughter.
- Even worse is that when Victor Vance comes to meet him, Marty orders Louise to clean up their trailer and when she says that she didn't clean up because Mary-Beth was sick, Marty threatens to hit the two, showing that he was willing to hurt a baby. Coupled with that teenage girl he raped, this gives him some uniqueness as the only character from the 3D Universe of Grand Theft Auto to ever harm a child, as children almost never appear in any GTA games.
- It's heavily implied that he has abused Louise too much that she has become subservient to him, as when Marty excuses himself to Victor about just playing around with his wife, Louise says that Marty only hits her when she deserves it.
- Upon coming across Louise speaking to Victor after finishing with an aerobic routine, Marty accuses her of dressing like a prostitute and warns her that he will kick her out if she dresses like that again, proving that he even controls his wife's dressing style. When she decides to leave him for her sister Mary Jo's house, Marty also threatens to beat his sister-in-law up.
- As for the fact that he impregnated Louise during her studies, this implied that he raped her during her college years.
- Forms the Trailer Park Mafia after breaking his business relationship with Umberto Robina, the leader of the Cubans, extorting several of Vice City's businesses.
- Hires Victor Vance to kill the Cholos assaulting Mal Viento, a Little Havana business he extorts, and later rises up the protection money to the employee for making him waste his time even though he and his men are supposed to protect it if they are going to demand money from him.
- Orders a reluctant Victor to trash a Verdi Groceries store until the employee accepts to stop paying the Cholos for protection and pay Marty for it, leading Victor to also kill three Cholos who come to protect the store.
- Dares Victor to retrieve three vehicles of people who haven't paid him so they needed to be repossessed, though after doing it, Victor realizes that none of the debts were real and that Marty ordered to him to steal the vehicles because he liked them and decided that they were his.
- Orders Victor to blow up three Cholo trucks with grenades because the Cholos were trying to take over his repossession business, leading Vic to kill some Cholos who tried to get back at him for destroying their vehicles.
- Dispatches Vic to kill some Cholos who owned a brothel at Little Haiti so he could buy it.
- Recruits some men to hurt Louise if she ever returns to his trailer when she returns to retrieve some money, leading Vic to kill them all.
- Kidnaps Louise from Mary Jo's house so he can force her to become a prostitute for him and others to rape. He also tried to do the same to Mary Jo according to her.
- Leaves his two henchmen behind so they can kill Vic while he drives off with Louise inside his car, then trying to kill Vic himself when he catches him and Louis before they can reach the brothel.
- No matter how Vic kills him, his death wasn't played for sympathy. While Louise expresses her horror at his death, it's less because she cared for him but more out of concern for how Mary-Beth and her are gonna be financially well without Marty's businesses.
- While Victor Vance is warned after his death that he may be tracked down by the Jay Williams family to avenge Marty, it's unclear if Marty cared for his relatives or not (and his relatives are not aware about Marty's death). And because they never arrived in Vice City, this is proven untrue.
- It could be that Marty instead views the rest of his relatives as each extension of himself.
- Although the 3D Universe of Grand Theft Auto has an astoundingly high Heinous Standard, Marty Jay Williams' low resources means he has to avoid comparison to villains like Catalina, Donald Love or Frank Tenpenny, plus Marty's sex crimes and his willingness to kill an infant are stuff not even they did, allowing Williams to stand out despite having considerably less resources.
- Although he only appears in just six missions which is also his fewest appearances, he still stands out for his large number of atrocities despite only appearing in several missions before his deserved demise.
