~ Marsh, revealing himself to be Ocelot and stating his true intentions to start World War III. |
Marsh, also known as Ocelot, is the main antagonist in the 2023 action film Expend4bles, the fourth installment of The Expendables franchise.
Originally, he was the corrupt government official who acted as the new superior of the Expendables. In actuality, he was a double agent in secret whose plans were to trigger World War III for the sake of profiteering from it. He is responsible for the incident that took out Barney Ross' original team.
He was portrayed by Andy Garcia, who also played Miles Edwards from Max Steel.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Generally, he planned on starting World War III by triggering a war between the United States of America and Russia for the sake of profiteering from it. The act would've caused the deaths of millions to billions in the long run.
- During a mission he assigned to Barney Ross and his old team of Expendables, he sabotaged it to cover his identity, which resulted in the deaths of eight members of Barney's team.
- He hired notorious terrorist Suarto Rahmat to retrieve nuclear detonators, making him responsible for the latter's raid in a military compound in Libya that caused the deaths of dozens of Libyan soldiers and General Fezzan's family, as well as orchestrating the shipment of the detonators to Vladivostok in a disguised cargo ship. It also resulted in Barney Ross nearly dying from a missile launched at his plane and then exploded.
- He relieved Lee Christmas from his duties in the Expendables to ensure he didn't intervene.
- He lured the Expendables into a trap along with Suarto Rahmat and played a victim to get an exchange of meeting his former partner, Phen Lyong Bai.
- He killed Phen Lyong Bai to keep his identity a secret, as well as shooting two guards.
- When his identity is revealed to Lee Christmas, he plans to frame the Expendables to attempt to cause World War III.
- When one of his men advised him to abandon the ship due to the bomb setting off, he fatally shot the soldier to death and promoted another one in his place.
- He tried to play dirty in a supposed "man-to-man duel" with Lee in an attempt to kill him unfairly; luckily, Barney, who survived the incident, shot him to death via chopper.
- Most of the time, he worked with the Expendables, which was nothing more than a mere façade to keep his identity as Ocelot sacred and eliminate the team for being an interference.
- He doesn't care for his men, best demonstrated by the lack of concern when the bomb is about to set off and shoots one of them for questioning his actions. The only reason he worked with Rahmat is under superficial pragmatism, seeing him as valuable to his scheme.
- He is easily the most heinous character in the franchise due to his attempt to initiate World War III on a large scale compared to other villains.
Trivia[]
- He and his right-hand Suarto Rahmat are the only Expendables Pure Evils.
