Malic is the main antagonist of the 1976 tv series Space 1999.

He is the power hungry prince of the Dorcons. Although he is a complete sociopath who cares more for himself than the benefit and prosperity of his own people. Going as far to kill them if it allows him to ascend to king and usurp his affable uncle. Therefore, with a pyschon needed for immortality he takes this chance to revolt.

He is portrayed by the late Gerry Sundquist.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

• When the Dorcons arrived at Alpha, was the first to suggest attacking Alpha head on thus preventing a peaceful confrontation down the line as the Archon invaded leading to at least one casualty.
• Freed Koenig not out of sympathy but to cause chaos within his own Dorcon ship, so he can kill the Archon.
• Killed two guards who were keeping watch on Koenig out of bloodlust, even when he could have stunned them.
• Incriminated Koenig and diverted attention away from himself to Koenig so he could find his uncle.
• Unnecessarily killed another solider who happened to be in his way to further paint Koenig as evil.
• Made his way to the brain transfer room and killed the doctor.
• Sadistically tortured his uncle by melting his brain with a surgical device even when he could have made his death painless.
• Mocked his rule and found pleasure in the Archon's vegetative state stealing his badge.
• Proclaimed himself Archon and blamed the Alphans responsible for the Archon's death thus instigating another invasion.
• Planned on stealing Maya's brain anyway.
• When his deception was revealed killed Varda for opposing him.
• Stands out even with Dorzak because of his massive on screen kill count and utter disregard for life.

Trivia

• Malic's vile nature was foreshadowed by Varda very early into the episode.
• With regards to being a sadistic elitist with ASPD who wants to rule everyone and steal a brain(s) for immortality he is similar to Great Professor Bias. Only Bias succeeded for a time until the Livemen ruined his operation.
