The Major is the main antagonist of the Hellsing manga and its OVA adaption Hellsing Ultimate.
He is a bloodthirsty German military leader who loves to see bloodshed of people killing each other left and right for his twisted sense of pleasurable excitement and would love to see continued to the very longest until there's nothing left. The Major is the opposing force to the Hellsing Organization and the Vatican, and commands his villainous team to settle the score for his genocidal war.
He is voiced by Nobuo Tobita in the Japanese dub, who also plays Brajira of the Messiah in Tensou Sentai Goseiger, and Scourge in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. In the English dub, he is voiced by Gildart Jackson.
What Makes him Pure Evil[]
- He ordered countless inhumane experiments on his soldiers to make them more powerful. What's worse is that the Major had already done this several times when he served the Nazis during World War II.
- Although he rejected the blood Alucard gave him upon his dying breath in World War II, that doesn't excuse him for his later crimes and him allowing his men to rebuild him into a cyborg when he actually wanted to die due to his nihilistic behaviors, clearly shows some parts of his hypocrisy.
- He had Doctor create several artificial vampires for warfare and is also responsible for what Walter was in the series.
- He has the Valentine brothers to attack the Hellsing mansion, which results in the deaths of all the Hellsing soldiers as well as posthumously anybody else in the process.
- Orders Tubalcain Alhambra to attack Alucard in Brazil, who manipulates the local police and sends several police officers to their deaths.
- Allows Rip Van Winkle to be painfully killed and mauled instead of activating her chip which would set herself on fire, claiming that it was a "hunter's death" and a "reward" for doing her job.
- Has his Nazi soldiers to eat an officer of the German Wehrmacht alive upon gaining control of Millennium, which clearly makes him simply okay with enforcing cannibalism on his own soldiers.
- Before the invasion of London, he openly exclaims his obsessive love for war, genocides including holocausts, massive amounts of destruction, every facet or sub-type of war, women being raped with children perhaps being molested through long, eloquent speeches, planning to create endless conflict so that the world would be destroyed, leaving "not even ravens to scavenge from the earth". This goes to show how irredeemable he is and he isn't wanting to redeem himself anytime soon. He even tells his army to eat as much as your heart contents, perhaps including their fellow soldiers as well.
- Callously orders the destruction of London and its people, which totaled to more than three million lives lost and several more injured or dying in the aftermath.
- He also orchestrates an attack on the United States White House, leading to the deaths of 64,300 innocent people including the president and his entire cabinet, and would've also caused the deaths of even more after the invasion was concluded.
- After the Vatican City people had started attacking people, he had gone on top of his airship, maliciously and gleefully watches the battlefield, and madly swung his arms as if he were conducting the battle as his symphony.
- Sacrifices his own forces in order to have Alucard unleash the fullest extent of his power and make himself vulnerable.
- When one of his soldiers objects to the lives of his men being lost, the Major callously disregards him and orders his execution for his insubordination.
- Orders Schrodinger to commit suicide as a means of trapping Alucard, nearly succeeding in killing Alucard once and for all before he was killed.
- Shows no care for the deaths of any of his soldiers.
- Lives for nothing more than pure destruction, carnage, warfare, and death.
- Even after he died at the end, he stated the war was great, showing absolutely no remorse for any acts he made.
- Despite being a cyborg, this doesn't mean he's morally ambiguous at all, given how he used to serve the Nazi leader willingly and still wished to cause more destruction even if it meant he had to become half machine. Integra herself calls out the Major on his inhumanity after the latter proclaims he's still human even though he's turned himself into a machinelike being.

- The Major is one of the three villains from the Hellsing manga and OVA to be Pure Evil, the others being Zorin Blitz and The Doctor.
