“ | Dear diary, it's me, Magdalena. I recently met with a handsome and charming man named Charles when I went to town myself to find a good suitor. He is a rather boisterous but charming at the same time. I was annoyed but at the same time, love his attitude. That's not until I found out that he's the king of Spain. Fitting because I'm also a daughter of an aristocrat too and I have an ambitions to rule all the Holy Roman Empire territories in the future. I think I found myself a jackpot because he will be a stepping stone for me to become the Queen of Holy Roman Empire. And as the new Queen, I had an intention to purge all of the filthy peasants that has been plagued this land from the face of the Earth. They're filthy, didn't contribute to anything, uneducated and pretty much weak that they didn't suit my standard of perfection. | „ |
~ Magdalena in one of her diary entries. |
Magdalena is the main antagonist of the web short story Dresden's Haunted Forest written by DeltaHorizon020. Initially presented as a reclusive radio DJ who lives in the titular haunted forest alone and is a benevolent, kind lady that treats the protagonist, Reinhardt Hitzlsperger, well, it was soon revealed that she is an evil immortal witch who preys on innocent people for centuries for her own gain and is responsible for the haunted state of the forest to begin with.
Important Notice[]
Image in the infobox is made by the creator of the story himself, User:DeltaHorizon020, via the App known as Gachalife despite the negative reputation the app had due to it's community, despite this, the creator had no choice due to his inability to draw. Due to the limitations of resources in the app itself, the creator tried his best to create Magdalena in his own vision despite her gachalife version doesn't mirror what Magdalena supposed to be like in the story proper.
Appearance[]
Most of the time, Magdalena appears as a beautiful woman in late-20s with an alluring gothic fashion sense. She is a slender yet voluptuous woman with fair height, dark purple ponytail hair with bangs, beautiful purple eyes and a dress that almost resembles one of the Fire Emblem: Three Houses's character, Cornelia Arnim's, dress or the dress usually wore by the Gremory Class from Three Houses: A form-fitting dress with dark grey lace trimming while showing a ridiculously deep cleavage and black and purple feather boa. She also wears a black opera gloves, a black high heel shoes, and a black lipstick on her lips.
Personality[]
Magdalena first appeared as a kind person who lived alone in the forest. Even helping Reinhardt to recover from his injuries after trying to find his best friend after the quarrel that they had before his best friend went missing into the forest and never came back. Magdalena's relationship with Reinhardt can be described as a mentor-pupil relationship as she tried her best to teach Reinhardt several skills he doesn't have before. Magdalena can also act as a motherly figure towards Reinhardt, giving him nice foods, telling him bedtime stories before he asleep, singing a lullaby for Reinhardt or even treating him even when his injured. This resulted on her forming an intimate bond towards Reinhardt just like a mother and son.
However, this was revealed to be an act by Magdalena herself. Evidenced by several odd behaviors that she had possessed before revealing her true nature towards Reinhardt himself such as her predatory behavior as if she want to eat Reinhardt during the last days when both Reinhardt and Magdalena hang out together or when she tells him a distorted and demented versions of the fairy tales before Reinhardt goes to sleep.
In truth, Magdalena is actually a sociopathic, darwinistic witch who will do anything to achieve world domination and be worshipped like a goddess. Magdalena's darwinistic behavior stems from the fact that she hate poor people because they didn't suits her standards of her perfection. This was shown again as Magdalena stated her goal when she become a goddess: Wiping out the African and Asian continent due to her disgust towards their poverty and plans to leave 1 billion people on Earth that are worthy of her guidance while having no hesitations to execute them. Magdalena hates the concept of "Good and Evil" and prefers to view the world as a "Grey and Gray Morality" as no one is in the side of good and evil. However, she also uses this concept to be exploited so that she could commit more depraved acts.
Magdalena also shows an open disdain towards Communist and Socialist Ideology, saying that the ones who made the ideology should be branded as the Jester of the Century while expressing her misanthropic personality, saying that humans are nothing but selfish beasts that exists to fulfill their own desires. Although at the same time, she also uses this ideology to her advantage so that she could kill a numerous amount of victims.
To top all of her negative traits, Magdalena also hits every cases of being a high-functioning sociopath. Having a superficial charm when she used it to seduce and manipulate her victims such as Reinhardt, lacking in empathy towards other people's deaths, reckless behavior such as the moment when she accidentally screwed up during the German Peasants War which resulted on her identity being exposed, manipulation, constant lying and irresponsibility despite being a Card Carrying Villain. Magdalena also display several sadistic tendencies in the story such as forcing Reinhardt eating his parents before getting eaten or showing the remains of Reinhardt's friend in her ghastly mural towards Reinhardt himself just for her amusement.
Despite her negative traits, Magdalena does have several hobbies and interests and had a job just like other normal people which made her terrifying. Her favorite hobbies include painting or broadcasting due to her experience as a Radio Personality and before being a Radio Personality of Dresden, she used to be a teacher. She also admired bands like Kraftwerk or Snap! Despite living in the forest all alone, she is shown to adapt to other eras as the time went by and used some of her skills as an advantage to survive. Despite this, her hobbies does have its darker side as she used it as an advantage to commit more depraved acts. At one point, she also complimented Adolf Hitler due to his genocidal programs before belittling him by saying that she will have a better plans compared to him.

Trivia[]
- The idea of "Dresden's Haunted Forest" and Magdalena was conceived during the creator's days as a TV Tropes user when he saw the effortposts of Cornelia Arnim from Fire Emblem: Three Houses by TheImmortalAngelNewton and The Wicked Witch of the Original Hansel and Gretel by Lightysnake. This resulted on the creator got his memories jogged and remember the obscure game that he played during his childhood days by DivineKids Associates and DreamBox Studios, "Ron and Cherry's Day Out" regarding one of the characters which is the attractive evil witch. Another contributing factor of making the story is when the creator thinking that making a story about an attractive wicked witch and her past told in the diary would be a good idea in the end.
- Magdalena's design was heavily inspired by the unnamed attractive evil witch from "Ron & Cherry's Day Out" and Cornelia Arnim from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. However, the end product also unintentionally made her almost look like Akeno Himejima from "Highschool DxD".
- Originally, Dresden was not the city that the author choose in the first place as there are other Germany Cities to choose like Stuttgart, Rostock and so on. Even when the story was conceived, he didn't even choose the perfect city for the setting. - In the original drafts when the story was conceived, Magdalena being a Radio Personality, her interest with a band called SNAP! and her end goals for becoming a goddess was not existent in the first place. As originally, her story was going to be told via her diary and also focuses on her artistic personality. However, she ended up having these kind of traits because of the author interest on hearing SNAP! Band and how he decided to give Magdalena an endgoal as an immortal while correlating with her two most prominent personality: An Artist and a Megalomania. Adding to the fact that the creator picks the communication as the main major for his studies. He also addeed Magdalena's experience as a teacher during the 50s because the Radio Station that Magdalena worked wasn't established until 1958.
- In the initial drafts, Magdalena's flashbacks was originally set in the 19th century due to most of Brothers Grimm stories were released around the 19th century and how Magdalena's lover was originally not King Charles V as the original one was supposed to be a certain noble. However, the author decided to set it at the 16th century Holy Roman Empire after doing some research about tragedies that happened in Germany or better known as Holy Roman Empire back then and researching the person who perpetuated some of the tragedies.
- Initially, the haunted forest was going to be located in the northern part of Dresden. But due to some research about Dresden, the author decided to located it at the Eastern part of the city for accuracy reasons.
- As the story is finished, the author desired to remake this story in a foreseeable future to fix some of the grammars and the flaws of the story.
- It is stated by the author himself that Magdalena is one of his favorite characters to make due to her attractiveness and how evil she is and because of his interest with Pure Evil female villains.
- She is only version of The Witch to win against her old archenemies (Hensel & Gretel) and Reinhardt is new archenemy of her.
