Lord Cob, or simply known as Cob, is the main antagonist of the 2006 Studio Ghibli film Tales from Earthsea.
He was voiced by Willem Dafoe in the English dub, who also played Ryuk in Netflix's Death Note and Clement Hoately in Nightmare Alley.
In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Yuko Tanaka.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Attempted to take the world in the past.
- Messed around the boundary of life and death to become immortal, which disrupted the world’s balance and threatened it, with disasters like starvation shown on screen.
- He was involved in child slavery, having been shown transporting child slaves to his castle.
- Threatened to kill his minion Hare if he fails by choking him with magic.
- Brainwashed Arren into stabbing Sparrowhawk.
- Tried to kill Theruu.
