~ Lord Arcanon. |
Lord Arcanon is the overarching antagonist of Power Rangers Dino Charge and the central antagonist of Power Rangers Dino Super Charge.
He is a powerful alien tyrant who sought to conquer the universe by hiring Sledge to capture the Energems.
He was portrayed by Andrew Grainger.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
Past/In General[]
- He stands out in the Dino Charge Universe and sets the heinous standards there since he never crossed into the main universe (unlike Sledge) and never heard of it while using all his resources to the fullest.
- Also, while Snide & Heckyl did destroy many galaxies and Badussa destroyed one, they were both offscreen villainy as opposed to seeing Arcanon destroying a planet onscreen. Not to mention it was because of Arcanon's actions that the former were even able to do so.
- Unlike Sledge, Heckyl, and Snide who have some form of redeeming trait and/or comedic moments, Arcanon has neither and even his threats to destroy his servants for failure are played dead seriously.
- Destroyed the planet Sentai 6 and it's population, leaving Heckyl as the only survivor, solely to gain the Dark Energem hidden within.
- Pursued Heckyl when he tried to run and keep him from getting the Dark Energem. This results in the creation of Heckyl's evil half Snide.
- Then after prying the Dark Energem out of his hand, he removes his entire memory of his past, making Heckyl believe he is also evil, thus he is responsible for Heckyl and Snide actions.
- When Zenowing tries to stop him, he defeats and captures him. Knowing full well Zenowing wouldn't serve him willingly, he used the Dark Energem to create Doomwing, giving that evil half the Silver Energem so he can transform into the Silver Ranger while Zenowing can't, thus forcing him to be on Arcanon's side.
- In addition, Zenowing having to be bonded to Doomwing causes him to become more antagonistic and rude.
- Hired Sledge to capture an army of monsters for him, resulting in Sledge capturing and imprisioning many criminal monsters on his ship and thus causing the extinction of the dinosaurs (at least until the finale when the rangers go back in time to prevent it, which was only known to be possible after Arcanon's death) as well as Sledge's attack on Earth throughout the series.
Power Rangers Super Dino Charge[]
- Sends Singe to Earth to make a deal with Heckyl and Snide to get the Energems while contacting Singe behind their back until Heckyl manages to confront Singe about how he knew where the Titano Zord was.
- Using Doomwing's Silver Ranger transformation, Arcanon manages to trick the rangers into copying the Dino Charges for him, hoping to take control of all the Dino Charge zords when the time came. It only failed because Hecklyl created Fortress to counter the zord attacks.
- Arrives to Earth and attacks the city in order to use the copy Dino Chargers and claim the bounty.
- Manipulates the rangers into destroying Fortress and once they do, he captures the defeated Heckyl and puts him back into solitary confinement with his mouth gagged.
- Forcefully takes over Sledge's crew as Singe threatens to kill those who don't want to serve Arcanon while Arcanon doesn't object to his threat.
- Only saw Doomwing as a useful tool when bonded with Zenowing, so when the two are split, he begins to see Doomwing as useless and threatens his life several times if Doomwing does not find a way to rebond. When Doomwing fails his chance, he leaves him to die by the rangers' hands, particularly Zenowing having regained his Silver Ranger powers.
- He doesn't care about Singe either, berating him for his plan to control the zords failure and calling him weak. He also wasn't at all fazed when Snide's stomach tentacle grabs him or when his body is switched with a Vivix by Professor Strickler.
- Taunts Heckyl about destroying Sentai 6 when he regains his memory and orders him shackled while claiming it would be amusing to see him try to take revenge.
- While he eventually lets Snide work for him, it is only when he vows to betray Heckyl.
- Has Conductro and Screech create a device that turns all of Amber Beach's population into zombies, intending to use them as human shields to prevent the rangers from attacking and force them to give up the ten good Energems.
- Calls Snide useless and kicks him out for failing to prevent Heckyl's escape.
- When his zombie plan fails, he tries to kill the rangers with his super form that he uses when bonding with the Energems and almost succeeds.
- While Arcanon refers to Sledge as his friend, but their relationship is purely professional. Sledge himself denies their friendship, and according to Wrench, Sledge was actually afraid of Arcanon. When Sledge reveals that he is still alive, he only offers to honor their deal in an attempt to save himself. Sledge then takes the Dark Energem for himself and powers up his blaster.
- Then he tries to kill him by outnumbering him with Singe, Conductro, and Screech, only for Sledge to reveal that he got back his generals and, along with Snide (who betrayed Arcanon for banishing him), giving him a well-deserved death that is ultimately played for karma and satisfaction.
Trivia[]
- He is the third and final Pure Evil in the Neo Saban era of the Power Rangers franchise. First being Serrator and the second being Vrak.
- While Lord Arcanon is Pure Evil. his Kyoryuger counterpart, Hundred-Faced Preist Chaos is not, as Chaos is genuinely loyal to Deboth. He is also shown to be mostly benevolent to his subordinates, only turning on some of them out of paranoia of them going rouge like his younger brother Torin. Even so, Chaos fails the heinous standards to Deboth and his creator, Devius.
