Lewis Dodgson is the secondary antagonist of the 2010 non-canon Jurassic Park: Redemption comic book miniseries.
Unlike his movie counterpart, this version of Dodgson doesn't go through the events depicted in Jurassic World: Dominion and instead teamed up with Peter Ludlow in the latter's scheme against Tim Murphy. As Ludlow's right-hand enforcer, Dodgson assists him in his plan to unleash dinosaurs in the mainland to claim as many possible victims; unlike Ludlow, however, Dodgson's motives are never explained.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In general[]
- He is a psychopathic bully who enjoys tormenting and killing everything and everyone around him whether they be humans or animals (including dinosaurs). He is also a very unpleasant man who views loyalty to his superiors as a burden he is forced to tolerate, however this doesn't stop him from backstabbing them later out of petty revenge.
Jurassic Park[]
- Like his mainstream counterpart, Lewis Dodgson hired Dennis Nedry to steal fifteen dinosaur embryos from John Hammond's then-upcoming Jurassic Park theme park, leading to Nedry accidentally start a chain reaction which claimed his life and many others, forcing Hammond to give up on his dream.
Jurassic Park: Redemption[]
- He teams up with Peter Ludlow to sabotage Tim Murphy's Jurassic Park project. While Ludlow has an established motivation (spitefully ruining John Hammond's legacy), Dodgson's motives are never stated - Although from what we know about him, it might be the exact same reason (spiting Hammond) or simply because he's a sadist who took joy in killing.
- It's implied that Lewis Dodgson released the Carnotaurus as a distraction for Professor Backer to give him the opportunity to kill Henry Wu, endangering countless innocents just to kill Wu.
- He hits a Triceratops just for existing and then shocks her for trying to retaliate once he is hired by Tim to participate in his project.
- It is also implied that the scene where he shocks the Triceratops isn't the first time he has tormented this individual, meaning that he may have been committing animal abuse for a while.
- Under Ludlow's orders to "get rid of him," Dodgson releases a Gracilisuchus to kill Dr. Henry Wu while Professor Backer is busy trying to recapture a Carnotaurus, leading Wu to be devoured until nothing but one of his hands remains, and lies to Backer about it.
- He shocks and knocks out Ludlow's bodyguard just to prove to him who's in charge.
- He releases dinosaurs on the mainland to slaughter countless people. While he did it under Ludlow's orders, Dodgson took immense pleasure and pride in doing so.
- Even though Dodgson and Ludlow perish and the dinosaurs were stopped afterwards, their actions still cause several casualties and a Giganotosaurus was barely stopped from running into a nuclear power plant, which would have likely claimed much more lives had something gone wrong inside it.
- Despite Ludlow's statement about Dodgson's loyalty, it's unknown if such loyalty is genuine or not, as they don't interact in the two scenes they share in the whole story. Furthermore, Dodgson's personality and past actions make it clear that any time he didn't betray someone was either out of pragmatism or not being aware to the other person's existence.
- As he already has low competition due to the fact only the first three Jurassic Park films are canon to this storyline, Dodgson easily passes the Heinous Standards with his horrible treatment towards the dinosaurs he gathered for Ludlow's plans.
