You... again... I should have killed you in Vorkuta.
~ Kravchenko after beating up Mason.

Colonel Lev Kravchenko (Russian: Лев Кравченко) is a major antagonist in the Call of Duty franchise's Black Ops sub-series. He is the sadistic right-hand man of Nikita Dragovich and assists him in his plans to conduct genocide against the United States.

He was voiced by Andrew Divoff.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Mutilated and murdered his own sister to get into the Soviet army.
  • He (along with Dragovich) left Viktor Reznov and his men at Stalingrad in a massacre at the hands of General Heinrich Amsel, under a false promise to supply Reznov reinforcement, which never happened.
  • Brutally executed German soldiers in a sadistic manner.
  • Betraying Viktor Reznov and his men.
  • Carved open the heads of Americans to be brainwashed as sleeper agents under Dragovich's orders.
  • Kidnapped and stabbed Grigori Weaver in the eye with a knife.
  • Tested Nova 6 on people in Vietnam.
  • Removing infected tissue from exposed victims to watch how long they could live after that.
  • Kravchenko and Dragovich capture Mason, Woods and Bowman.
  • Tries to kill Mason and Woods in his office. Beats up Mason then mentions how he should have killed him in Vorkuta.
  • After the first game, he began to start selling Soviet weapons for terrorists.
  • He also tortured Woods and left him to be rotten in Vietnam.
  • Gouges out one of Dr. William Peck's eyes out and taunted him by saying which was his better eye all because he failed to stop Requiem from getting Samantha Maxis out off the Dark Aether.
  • He sold weapons to Raul Menendez for his vengeance on Mason, Hudson and Woods for the suffering he endured after losing his right eye.
  • Helps the Soviet Army attack the Mujahideen camp.
  • Tries to kill Mason once again but is then defeated and captured by him and Woods.
  • He subverts his loyalty to the Soviet Union by selling weapons to Menendez on the black market since money is all that matters due to the Soviet Union’s downfall.
  • While knowing that selling weapons to Menendez will enable Menendez to burn down the world, he shows no regrets or remorse for selling Soviet weapons to him.
  • In the Zombies mode of Black Ops Cold War, he captured the Raptor-1 pilot from Requiem, and coerced the strike team to kill the traitor Aleksandra Valentina. When Valentina was defeated, he shows his gratitude by attempting to kill the strike team, instead of redeeming himself.

Trivia[]

  • Lev Kravchenko is, alongside Nikita Dragovich and Friedrich Steiner, one of the three Call of Duty: Black Ops villains to be Pure Evil.
  • Kravchenko seems to have mellowed down during Black Ops Cold War, where he was one of the Soviets tasked to investigate the mole within KGB, and seems to be doing a decent job at it. Nonetheless, he eventually subverts it in Black Ops 2 as he starts selling Soviet weaponry on the black market, so this doesn't stop him from being Pure Evil.
