“ | Time to say goodnight, Danny. Your mind's only got room for one of us. But don't worry, I'll take care of business from now on! | „ |
~ Leo before fighting Daniel in Daniel's mind. |
“ | You see... heh heh... can't get rid of me... can never... get rid of me. | „ |
~ Leo's last words, in-between being hit in the head with a shovel to death by Daniel. |
Leonardo "Leo" Kasper is the main antagonist of the 2007 survival horror stealth game Manhunt 2.
He was an assassin and serial killer that was used as a test subject for the Pickman Bridge, and had his personality fused with the personality of the protagonist, Daniel Lamb. A defect in the Bridge allowed Leo to communicate with Daniel, and while he initially seemed to be an ally of Daniel, it is later revealed that he was only exploiting him, and actually revels in murder, wanting Daniel to become a serial killer like him.
He was voiced by Holter Graham.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Before the game and Pickman Project, he was a serial killer for the government killing multiple people. It's implied that Leo has killed people during his youth.
- He murdered Daniel's friend Michael Grant simply to acquire the boat keys that would allow him to escape Blackwell Island (where he was supposed to meet Michael).
- The game's uniquely violent executions towards enemies are strongly suggested to be Leo's doing rather than Daniel's.
- After they flee the Dixmor Asylum, he influenced Daniel to kill several people, with the intention of making him a sadistic killer like him.
- He ran amok and murdered several people, including several cops and Daniel's wife and harmed his kids, which in turn caused Daniel to be blamed (as Leo was in Daniel's body) and locked in the Dixmor Asylum for six years. Leo lied to Daniel about what happened to his wife and shows no remorse for doing so.
- Though he seemed to be friends with Daniel, in reality, he was manipulating him for his own gain.
- He murders several people in the TVMK studio in a grotesque fashion, garroting one of them with a microphone. His brutish method of killing others also applies to most other murders he has committed.
- He attempts to inculpate and guilt-trip Daniel for all the murders Daniel has committed because of Leo's corrupting influence.
- Leo suddenly decides he must kill Daniel once he realizes from Dr. Pickman that destroying the Pickman Bridge would erase himself, definitively proving he never cared for Daniel's wellbeing.
- He tries to take over Daniel's body after the latter discovers the truth and, if the bad ending is achieved, Leo takes his body.
- Although Leo didn't kill them, dialogue and circumstances seem to imply that Leo abused Daniel's children immediately after murdering his wife.
- Leo claims that the reason why he commits such violence is get revenge on the Project for torturing and imprisoning him and Daniel. The events of the game make it clear that his real reasoning is to: benefit himself, desensitize Daniel to violence, and just for fun. Not helping is the fact that even before having his conscience put into Daniel's body and being tortured by the Project, he was already a cruel, murderous assassin anyway.
Trivia[]
- Leo Kasper is the only playable character in a Rockstar Games video game to be Pure Evil.
