What good is Tekken? It's an ancient voodoo! Against real adversaries like Rex it's worthless. This is going to fundamentally change the balance of the world's military powers. Rex is the perfect commando for the ground-level guerrilla combat. And I will be the one at the helm! Controlling the Mishima Conglomerate! And thus, ruling the entire world. Father, this is what it means to be the strongest in the world.
~ Lee while watching the Rex-experiments overpowering Kazuya and Jun.

Lee Chaolan is the secondary antagonist of Tekken: The Motion Picture. He is the adopted son of Heihachi Mishima, seeking to kill his adopted brother Kazuya so he could inherit the Mishima Conglomerate so he could rule the world. Here, he's much more vicious and psychopathic with none of the redeeming qualities from his original game counterpart.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Seeks his adopted father's respect and approval solely because he wants him to see him as a worthy heir to the Mishima Conglomerate so he can conquer the world and not out of sympathetic insecurities.
  • Attempted to kill his adopted brother on multiple occasions once he becomes a threat to his plans on inheriting the Mishima Conglomerate.
  • Carries out experiments and development of bioweapons and monsters for Heihachi Mishima and his attempt at waging a genocidal war on the world.
    • He is also responsible for making the Mishima Conglomerate the global superpower it is today, thus making it possible for Heihachi to carry out on his mission to destroy the world giving Chaolan some major blame for Heihachi's heinous deeds.
  • While he kept his word on allowing Jack-2 and the girl he has with him to join the tournament, he was still willing to have them killed for his experiments and goals.
  • He releases the R-Experiments (cloned dinosaurs he made for Heihachi's evil plans) onto the fighters residing on the island so they'll be devoured by his creations. His two girlfriends, whom he's fully aware are on the island, are devoured and killed by these monsters he released, but doesn't care as he believes they're just accessories to his experiments.
    • What makes this worse, is there's a child in that island that Jack-2 brought with him, endangering the girl under the risk of being eaten by his Rex-Experiments.
  • After failing to win his father's approval, he decided to blow up the island and kill everyone in it, including his father, just as a last ditch effort to gain control over the Mishima Conglomerate.
  • He kills off all of his scientists in order to detonate the island to explode, having a villainous breakdown during the whole scenario.
  • While it may seem he cares for the Williams sisters, it's completely fake and subverted. Not only is he merely manipulating them into trying to kill his brother, he also completely doesn't care when they get killed by his experiments and shrugged off their deaths as nothing but accessories.
  • Completely lacks the redeeming qualities and comedic moments of his original counterpart, being a massive egotist who only cares about wanting to rule the world and willing to kill many to achieve that and is taken absolutely seriously.
  • Despite Heihachi being a Businessmen plotting to wipe out all of mankind, Lee serves heinous enough due to having unique crimes.
  • Unlike Heihachi Mishima, who's a genuine well Intentioned Extremist, Lee lacks any altruistic motives and simply feels entitled he should rule the planet.

Trivia[]

  • He alongside Bryan Fury and Azazel are the only Tekken villains considered PE. He's also the only one not to be canon.
  • This is the only version of Lee Chaolan to be Pure Evil.
  • He is also the only Tekken Pure Evil to be human, as Bryan Fury was once a human but became a cyborg and Azazel is a god.
