The Lead Scientist is the main antagonist of the Turning Red fanfic The Great Red Panda Rescue.
He is the head of a group of scientists who kidnap Mei so they can experiment on her and find out how her red panda powers work so they can exploit her for their own goals.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Buys Mei at an illegal auction so he and his team can experiment on her.
- Has Mei drugged and taken to his lab.
- Brands Mei using a branding iron while she’s still conscious
- Has Mei electrocuted (albeit non-fatally) in ice cold water in hopes of getting her to transform, and also to see how much her red panda form can endure.
- Refuses to call Mei by her name, preferring to view her as an animal rather than a person.
- Has Mei locked and isolated in a padded room.
- Plans to exploit Mei’s panda form after finding out what makes her tick.
- Doesn’t show any care of whether or not his experiments will injure or even kill Mei.
- Threatens to shove a gag down Mei’s throat if she continues talking.
- Has Mei’s appendix removed without the use of anaesthetics.
- Despite treating Mei’s injuries, he only did so as he needed Mei alive if possible, and not out of any moral standards.
- Provides Mei with minimal food, treating her like an animal rather than a person.
- Has Mei shocked if she tries to escape.
- Has his men physically abuse Mei.
- Doesn’t care for his men, as shown when he asks one of his guards to leave after said guard show him the injuries Mei gave him.
- Threatens to capture Mei’s relatives so he and his men can experiment on them.
- Interrogates Mei in hopes that she’ll let slip where her relatives are, and hits her when she refuses to answer.
- Tries to have Mei killed after he figures he has no more use for her.
- Despite his death at the end, his actions still negatively affect Mei to the point that she considers banishing her panda spirit (although she decides to keep it), and she still has nightmares of the cruel experiments she was subjected to.
