What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- From a young age, he enjoyed sexually assaulting and harassing girls.
- He abused several girls in Central Park while volunteering to clean trash.
- He seemingly had a close relationship with his aunt Helen, but later cut ties with her when she discovered his true nature. It is implied that Larry raped her.
- He abducted 23 women and tortured them for days, including by sodomizing and raping them with foreign objects, before waterboarding them to death.
- Although only one of these victims is shown, his crime spree is what drives the events of the episode.
- His crimes were so horrific that a veteran FBI agent, Karl Tillman, was driven to an emotional breakdown by the investigation and eventually killed himself.
- He recorded the women's' suffering on tapes and forced his victims to watch them in order to drive them into despair before he killed them.
- He kidnapped a 24th victim, Amy Doe, just before the start of the episode and tortured her in the same way as his other victims.
- He refused to reveal Amy's location even when threatened with death, taking pleasure in the knowledge that she would never be rescued without his help. Amy eventually dies of her injuries.
