~ Kuin Hachisuka as Bee☆Pop. |
Kuin Hachisuka, also known as Bee☆Pop while possessing Pop☆Step, is the secondary antagonist of the 2016 Japanese superhero My Hero Academia spin-off manga series My Hero Academia Vigilantes. She acted as the main antagonist of the Vigilantes Beginnings Arc, the secondary antagonist of the Stendhal Arc, the main antagonist of the Vs. Queen Bee Arc, and the secondary antagonist of the Final Performance Arc.
She is an agent of the Villain Factory who uses her Quirk, Queen Bee, to inject the drug Trigger to turn citizens into Instant Villains in order to wreak havoc on the city. Because of the Instant Villain attacks instigated by her Trigger deliveries, the Naruhata Vigilantes were formed to combat this new threat.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Despite being a swarm of bees who only show personality while possessing a host, Kuin has a clear individual personality due to being a hive mind, as she still retained her sadistic personality even when possessing a new host and reforming her swarm after all but one of her bees were destroyed. She also has clear moral agency, as she exploited the resources of the Villain Factory to cause chaos and sometimes allowed her hosts to momentarily regain control so she could torture them.
- She worked for the Villain Factory to use their Trigger to inject people using her bees, so she could obtain data for them. However, she disobeyed their orders because she wanted to inject people just to see what would happen.
- She survived by invading houses and killing all of the people who lived inside. While this may arguably be for her survival, the mass murders were unnecessary due to such behavior being uncharacteristic of real bees, and she has been shown to enjoy mass murder.
- She kidnapped people to transform them into Next-Level Villains, with her most prominent victim being a civilian named Teruo Unagisawa, whom she turned into a Next-Level Villain after seeing how his Electric Eel quirk reacted to Trigger, and even sampled his Quirk for herself.
- She led a drug trafficking operation on the entirety of Naruhata, turning innocent civilians into destructive monsters by injecting them with Trigger. It was because of this that the Naruhata Vigilantes were formed.
- She possessed several teenage girls to use as human disguises, including Knuckleduster's daughter, Tamao Oguro.
- When encountering Soga Kugizaki alongside Stendhal, Kuin tried to persuade Soga to try Trigger to fight Stendhal, but he refused, yet she injected him anyway to make things more interesting, triggering his paranoia and transforming him into a porcupine-like beast.
- She injected a cat with Trigger, causing it to possess a bus and get into an accident that nearly killed Koichi, his mother, and Makoto Tsukauchi.
- She possessed one of Tamao's classmates to lure Soga into a trap before releasing bees from her skirt, but fortunately, his friends saved him in time.
- When she heard about the Narufest party, she sent Teruo (mutated as a Next-Level Villain) to go on a rampage so she could give the citizens a surprise. She later thought about injecting Trigger into the panicking civilians to take advantage of the situation before Knuckleduster found her.
- After Knuckleduster told Kuin that she was possessing his daughter Tamao, Kuin exploited his fatherly bond. She used her bees infused with Teruo's Quirk to re-awaken Tamao's anger after she fought with him and tried to kill him.
- She told Knuckleduster that she would use up Tamao's body and move onto another one without any hesitation, then rushed at him with her Bomb Bees to kill both of them out of spite, even though detonating her bees would cause herself pain.
- When all but one of Kuin's bees were killed and were later saved by Number 6, she later possessed Pop☆Step and became Bee☆Pop to continue her terrorism. Additionally, she devoured and ate a multitude of innocent people 6 brought for her to feed upon.
- As Bee☆Pop, she used her Bomb Bees to blow up parts of Naruhata, reveling in the destruction she caused.
- She hacked everyone's phones to sing a song about Kazuho's insecurities.
- She exploited Kazuho's relationship with Koichi by telling him that she hated him to lower his guard. Later, Kuin regained control just as Kazuho was thinking of living a romantic life with Koichi and told her it was useless.
- She attempted to force Pop☆Step to commit suicide by blowing up her body with her Bomb Bees, while taunting Koichi that every time he looks at the sunset, he will be forced to remember his inability to save Kazuho.
- While she has to compete with many impactful villains such as All For One, Kai Chisaki, Tomura Shigaraki, and Dabi, Kuin stands out on her own due to being able to take control of an entire city through her bees and the Trigger from the Villain Factory and causing many terrorist attacks by herself. Her actions also resulted in the Vigilantes having to turn to illegal vigilantism to stop her. She also has no backstory or redeeming qualities and just commits crimes for her own sadistic amusement. Also, despite being non-human, she has full moral agency over her actions and enjoys being evil without any genuine care or sympathy in between.
