What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- After he heard that humanity was planning to venture outside the walls, Kubal wanted to prevent this. Not because he cared for the soldiers that would risk their lives if they did this, but only because he was scared that he would lose his luxurious lifestyle if humanity successfully defeats the Titans. As his status of MP commander would become obsolete.
- He discovered a man that was creating a special Titan serum which could transform a human into an intelligent Titan, he feared this power as it could give humanity an upper hand against the Titans. Kubal would kidnap this man, his wife and burned their house down. He would then force this man to create a special Titan serum for that could transform him into the Colossal Titan. The scientist and his wife, who were Eren’s father and mother, were never seen again. Meaning that Kubal likely executed them.
- When it was officially declared that the government formed the Survey Corps, and that they were going to plan their first mission shortly after. Kubal decided to make his move to prevent this, he went outside the wall walked to the gate and transformed into the Colossal Titan. He would then kick down the gate, causing Titans to enter the human territory and devour numerous people in the nearest city. These same Titans would walk through the rest of the lands in the outer walls, causing even more deaths and many people were forced to evacuate to the inner wall.
- Because of the sudden increase in refugees, there became a food shortage for the rest of the population, which would instigate riots and cause even more deaths.
- He successfully changes the Survey Corp’s motivation to venture outside the walls, as they now begin to focus on regaining the outer wall.
- Because of his high militaristic status, he would become the commander of the Survey Corps and comes up with a plan to send his own soldiers on a suicide mission to eradicate any threat against him.
- During the expedition, he would eventually abandon his own soldiers when his already deceptive plan failed, leaving several soldiers to die by the hands of the Titans.
- After learning that Eren was capable of transforming into a Titan, he held a trial against him with the intend to have him executed, as his powers were deemed a threat.
- When Eren’s childhood ally Souda was ready to reveal the true origin of the Titan, Kubal killed him.
- After Eren’s kidnapping during the trail and the rest of the Survey Corps going after him to safe him, Kubal followed the group so he could eliminate them.
- He would meet up with the group on top of the wall, trying to prevent them from sealing the hole. He tries to persuade them by saying that they can become his allies, but it’s refused. He proceeds to open fire and shoots Armin in his leg.
- After he is shot down by Sasha, Kubal would transform into the Colossal Titan and try to destroy the explosive that the group were trying to seal the hole with.
- Eren, Mikasa and Jean would try to stop him, but Kubal swatted Jean with his arm, killing him.
- When Eren is on the Collosal Titan’s nape he sees Kubal and tries to cut him out, but the man simply laughs in a condescending way. He then grabs Eren and tries to crush him but is stopped by Eren’s brother Shikishima, who shoves the explosive in the Colossal Titan’s jaw and ingnites it. Killing both him and Kubal.
- Although he states that the outside world is dangerous, and humanity is much better living in the safety of the walls. Kubal is absolutely not a well-intentioned extremist, as he is actively responsible for putting humanity in an even worse state. This was all done because couldn’t let go of his high-ranking position and wanted to maintain it.
- He’s easily the most atrocious character in the movies. Lacking any redeeming qualities and being directly responsible for all the conflicts in the plot.
Trivia[]
- In Contrast to Bertolt Hoover and by extension the Attack on Titan: Junior High Version of the Colossal Titan, Kubal is the only Colossal Titan to be pure evil.
