Krang is one of the main antagonists of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adventure comics alongside Shredder. He is based on Krang from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series but is far more evil than him.
Biography[]
Krang's history is the same as his 1987 counterpart he was a warlord from Dimension X with the only difference is the android body has a different color than the cartoon version. Like the cartoon he teams up with shredder to battle the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles multiple times but later on becomes the ruthless warlord like he was in the later seasons expect far more evil as he caused the death and destruction of Wingnut and Screwloose's planet and species. He would also betray shredder and take over his body to fight the turtles. Krang and his forces goes around destroy most planets in dimension x and feeling the need to get stronger steals shredder's body to kill the turtles and their loved ones not caring about shredder's body taking damage. In the Random house tape versions of the comics he had a much deeper and menacing voice compared to his cartoon counterpart.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He went through multiple genocidal crusades searching for the Turnstone artifact, wiping out the populations of multiple planets such as that of Wingut and Screwloose's.
- Planned to take over Dimension X.
- Made a deal with Maligna to lead her to Earth for her genocidal conquest of Earth in exchange for loaning him 10 warriors for his conquest.
- Taken control of Shredder's body to kill the Turtles and hunt down their loved ones, not caring about all the damage the Shredder would end up being forced to take.
- While at first, Krang was just completely goofy and was not taken as a serious threat. but as the story progresses, Krang sheds his goofy qualities and the story treats him like a major threat ever since Wingnut and Screwloose reveals what Krang did to their planet.
Trivia[]
- This is the first incarnation of Krang to be Pure Evil. Of all the incarnations, this is clearly the most influential as while in the 1987 cartoon, Krang was a very goofy villain, this version actually becomes a sinister threat moment it was revealed he was a genocidal conqueror who had destroyed planets, and this archetype would be what set the template for all future versions of Krang even long after the Archie Comics series concluded.
- In the audio tape versions of the comics, it was revealed this Krang has a much deeper and sinister voice than his animated counterpart to fit his more serious portrayal.
