Lowly insects. Kneel before the genius of Kraang Subprime, greatest Kraang spy in all of Dimension X! The discovery of the lair was the final component needed... to launch FULL-SCALE INVASION!
~ Kraang Sub-Prime revealing himself to the Turtles and starting the invasion of Earth.

Kraang Subprime, formerly known as Knight, is a major antagonist in the 2012 Nickelodeon animated TV series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

He is an Utrom warrior and former member of the Utrom High Council who betrayed them to join the Kraang Prime, becoming the second-in-command of the Kraang. He would later take the guise of April O'Neil's best friend, Irma Langinstein, in order to spy on her and discover the Turtles' lair before revealing himself and becoming a recurring opponent of the Turtles.

He is also the cousin of Krang from the original 1987 TV show and the arch-enemy of Bishop, who was once his former brother-in-arms before Subprime's betrayal.

He was voiced by the late Gilbert Gottfried. While posing as Irma, he is voiced by Kate Micucci.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General/Background[]

  • As the second-in-command of the Kraang Hive Mind, Subprime is the on-the-grounds leader of many of the Kraang's horrendous operations throughout the millions of years they operated, subjecting countless humans, even children and pregnant women, to horrible experiments, terraforming planets and all life in them to be monstrous slaves and destroying what all they couldn't control, trying to poison New York's water supply or drill into the Earth's very core. He is about as equally culpable for the Kraang's atrocities as Kraang Prime himself.
  • Unlike all the other servants of Kraang Prime, who were tragically enslaved by his psychic powers, Kraang Subprime is the only one who willingly joined the Kraang and betrayed his race, who once viewed him as their greatest hero, all for the sake of power.
  • He doesn't care about or have any loyalty to Kraang Prime as he’s always insults him.
  • He is the one that bought the Heart of Darkness from Professor Honeycutt with the intention to weaponize it to destroy all the planets that the Kraang could not conquer, such as the Triceraton Homeworld, which left only a single mothership as the sole survivors of the Triceraton race.
  • Leads a crackdown on the Utrom rebellion, those that couldn't be brainwashed or freed themselves from the Hive Mind, resulting on only less than 100 Utroms remaining that haven't been brainwashed to serve Kraang Prime.
  • While Kraang Subprime is laughably evil due to being repeatedly used for jokes and has somewhat comedic defeats throughout his appearances, the actual threat he poses to Earth is always taken seriously, and he always comes back to still remain a dangerous threat, in which the last scene he has of the show is a serious flashback scene that reveals Honeycutt's morally skewed past.

Present[]

  • Pretends to be April's friend for a year, just to manipulate her into revealing the location of the Turtles' base and then have the entire place destroyed and trying to kill her and her friends. While April and the Turtles escape, she clearly does not take such a revelation well leading her to be afraid of making friends for a while.
  • Upon discovering the Turtles' base, he triggers the Kraang's invasion of New York City, which sees the entire city laid to waste and millions of its inhabitants horrifyingly mutated into monstrous slaves that will be transported to Dimension X.
  • Builds and launches a mutagen missile and tries to fire it onto the Earth itself, which has enough payload to terraform the entire planet into a new Dimension X and turn all of its inhabitants into the Kraang's slaves.
  • Tries to kill one of his men out of annoyance of their redundant speech.
  • Tries to kill the Turtles before they can save the millions of humans enslaved on Dimension X and return them to Earth.
  • Repairs the Technodrome that was sunk in the rivers surrounding New York to once again mutate Earth into Dimension X.
  • He captured the Salamandrians because they are allies of the Turtles.
  • Upon finding the Utrom base, tries to wipe out the rebellion, and then kidnaps the Queen and plans to torture her for information on the Heart of Darkness and reassemble it.
  • Finances Krang's plot to bomb all the Turtles across the 10 dimensions, only stopping when he learns that Krang's plot is to destroy the very dimensions his forces had been trying to enslave for millennia.
