“ | You're right. I should've definitely seen someone about that. But Piper showed me that killing people is way more fun than therapy. | „ |
~ Kieran Wilcox to Emma Duval and Audrey Jensen |
Kieran Wilcox is one of the main antagonists of the MTV series Scream, based on the slasher film series of the same name, serving as the secondary antagonist of Season 1 and the main antagonist of Season 2.
He was the accomplice to Piper Shaw, who was seemingly The Lakewood Slasher whenever she couldn't be. A sadistic killer who likes to mess with people and kill for fun, Kieran later sets himself on avenging Shaw's death by targeting Emma Duval and Audrey Jensen.
He was portrayed by Amadeus Serafini. With disguising his voice, he is voiced by Mike Vaughn. In-costume scenes as The Lakewood Slasher were portrayed by Stanton Barrett in Season 1, and Alec Rayme in Season 2.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- He has the highest kill count in the franchise with about 12 victims, and is the most brutal killer in the franchise as he uses different methods to kill his victims instead of a knife like most killers in the franchise, such as a noose, trencher, scythe, corkscrew, steam iron, glass mirror, drowning, pitchfork, gun, etc.
- He also tortures his victims before killing them, such as cutting off Seth Branson's hand, burning him with an iron, stabbing him in the stomach and then burning him alive.
- Although it was implied that he had a tough childhood, and that his step-father was strict towards him, this has nothing to do with the murders he committed. In fact, he is only mad at Eli for bringing it up, so he can paint Eli in a bad light.
- In addition, when Audrey mocked him for going on a killing spree due to issues with his father, Kieran admitted that he should have seen someone about that, yet chose to kill anyway because it's "way more fun than therapy".
- While he wanted to avenge Piper, it was only because he feels as though he lost the feeling of getting to share a love of killing with someone, which is proven when he scoffs when Emma asks him if he loved Piper and says "to kill with someone, now that's a real bond, isn't it?” He only killed with her out of mutual sadism and their shared enjoyment in killing people.
- Even if he loved Piper initially (which is proven false), this is subverted as he only was obsessed with Piper and did it out of worship instead of genuine love. Not to mention, he had a shrine of Piper in the orphanage and dug her body from her grave, in order to desecrate her corpse by cutting her stomach open to insert a pig’s heart inside.
- He also slept with other women such as Haley before and after Piper's death and has no qualms with doing such, despite the two being lovers.
- He also doesn't clear her name from being the Original Lakewood Slasher and instead tries to also frame Emma and Audrey for being complicit in Piper's spree.
Background[]
- It was implied that he killed his neighbor's dog and then blamed his cousin Eli for the crime.
- He stalked a girl he liked, posted her nudes online, and framed Eli for it.
- He is implied to have killed his mother and stepfather in a car crash.
- He killed a pig, making him the first and only killer in the franchise to have killed an animal.
Season 1[]
- He murdered Rachel Murray and made it look like a suicide, so that Emma, Rachel's family, girlfriend, and sheriff believe she killed herself.
- He filmed his father's live kidnapping and shared it with students at the school dance.
- He set his father's death to make Maggie accidentally kill him when she tried to untie him.
Season 2[]
- He drugged Emma Duval, Audrey Jensen, Noah Foster, Brooke Maddox and the rest of his classmates/guests at his own birthday party so that they start getting sick, even to the point of them vomiting and hallucinating.
- He displayed Jake Fitzgerald's body for everyone, including his own girlfriend, Brooke, to see, and poured Jake's organs on Brooke.
- As a result of displaying Jake's body, he caused a lockdown within the school, which caused rifts between the main characters' friendships, fights in the school, and even an uproar of concerned parents outside the school.
- He killed Haley Meyers, a girl who loved him deeply, for his own pleasure.
- He mentally tricked Emma, Audrey, and Noah into believing that Zoë Vaughn, Noah's girlfriend, was still alive with a pre-recorded videotape when she was actually dead.
- He killed the mayor of Lakewood, making him the first killer in the franchise to commit a political murder.
- He framed Emma and Audrey for the murders and made their family, friends, townspeople, and even the sheriff believe they killed everybody.
- He killed his own cousin Eli before making fun of him and his relationship with Emma.
- Despite being tearful before he is arrested, he is only upset that he was caught for his crimes and never expresses any genuine remorse for his actions.
- Although Kieran was imprisoned, this is never played for sympathy as not only is this karmic, but he only has himself to blame for this. The prison guards also rightfully mock Kieran while transporting him to his cell.
- His death, although brutal and shocking, is well deserved and played with no sympathy, as no one mourns for him, and Emma even says that "he got off easy," with Audrey mocking his demise.
