“ | General Kenobi. You are the first Jedi I have entertained at our education center. Few possess a Jedi's resolve, and it is strength of will that is my greatest enemy. | „ |

~ Agruss' last words before he is killed by Rex. |
Keeper Agruss is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Miraj Scintel) of the "The Slaves of Zygerria" arc of Season 4 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He was the keeper of the Zygerrian Labor Processing Hub on Kadavo where Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Captain Rex were imprisoned. Agruss was a sadistic and obese Zygerrian confined to a hover chair, and whose ruthless nature stood out even among the colony of slavers.
He was voiced by Victor Brandt.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He coldly executed several Togruta slaves by dropping them into a bottomless pit just to show Obi-Wan that others will suffer for his own defiance.
- He had another slave whipped to make Obi-Wan more obedient and was gladly willing to execute both him and Rex when Dooku ordered him to.
- He attempted to kill all the captured slaves by dropping them as well, destroying the control panel so Obi-Wan couldn't rescue any of them.
- Agruss is so cruel to the slaves that they make note of his methods between one another and take special caution to not anger him, presenting him very seriously in story.
- He mocked Obi-Wan for being unable to kill him out of principle due to being unarmed, which Rex countered by doing so instead.
- While killing seven people for shock value isn't heinous for a Star Wars villain, he has meager resources, and he is by far one of the more realistic villains, so he is still still heinous enough to stand out in his own right.
- While he technically works for his Zygerrian superiors such as Queen Miraj Scintel, his relationship with them is never explored nor do we see him react to his queen's death. Plus he didn't show any concern when Obi-Wan and Rex take down his Zygerrian guards.
- It is likely possible with his queen out of the picture, he would have seek the opportunity to become the most powerful slaver had the Republic not defeated him.
Trivia[]
- He is one of two Pure Evils in Star Wars Canon to not have hundreds of kills to his name, the other being Pong Krell.
- Coincidentally, they both are Pure Evils who originate from The Clone Wars series.
