| “ | General Kenobi. You are the first Jedi I have entertained at our education center. Few possess a Jedi's resolve, and it is strength of will that is my greatest enemy. | „ |
| ~ Keeper Agruss to Obi-Wan Kenobi. |
| “ | Come now Master Kenobi, I know a Jedi won't kill an unarmed man. | „ |
| ~ Agruss' last words before he is killed by Rex. |
Keeper Agruss is a supporting antagonist of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, serving as a major antagonist of Season 4, specifically as one of the two main antagonists (alongside Miraj Scintel) of the "The Slaves of Zygerria" arc.
He was the keeper of the Zygerrian Labor Processing Hub on Kadavo where Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi and Captain Rex were imprisoned. Agruss was a sadistic and obese Zygerrian confined to a hover chair, and whose ruthless nature stood out even among the colony of slavers.
He was voiced by Victor Brandt.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- His slaves make note of his methods between one another and take special caution to not anger him, making him very serious in presentation, compared to other villains of the Clone Wars who are somewhat over-the-top at times, including even other Pure Evils like General Grievous
- While seven murders is a mere slap on the wrist for a Star Wars villain given the insanely high heinous standard of the franchise, he is one of the most realistic villains and he uses very low resources.
- While he technically works for superiors such as Queen Miraj Scintel, his relationship with them is never explored nor is his reaction to the queen's death even shown. It is also likely that with her out of the picture, he would have sought the opportunity to become the most powerful slaver had the Republic not defeated him.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars[]
- He shows no concern when Obi-Wan and Rex take down his Zygerrian guards, confirming he has no care for those who work under him.
- He coldly executed several Togruta slaves by dropping them into a bottomless pit, attempting to intimidate Obi-Wan by making others wrongfully suffer for his defiance against the Keeper.
- He had another slave whipped to further intimidate Obi-Wan into submission and was gladly willing to kill both him and Rex on the spot when Dooku ordered him to.
- He attempted to kill all the remaining slaves by dropping them to their dooms as well, even destroying the control panel to prevent Obi-Wan from being able to rescue any of them.
- He mocked Obi-Wan for refusing to kill him due to the Jedi Code forbidding he kill an unarmed man, leading to his fully deserved death as Rex attacked him with a spear in defiance.
Trivia[]
- He is one of two Pure Evils in Star Wars Canon to not have hundreds of kills to his name, the other being Pong Krell.
- Coincidentally, they both originate from The Clone Wars and are also Hate Sinks.
