Some chick who used to work here came up with a sorta dinosaur language. I figured, if they know what I'm saying, what's to stop me from making them DO whatever I want. I'm talking completely controlling dinosaurs. Just imagine the kind of power you’d have if these stone-cold killers did your bidding. No one is saying no to you ever again.
~ Kash D. Langford to Darius Bowman.
It's either gonna do what I want, or its little head is gonna explode. Either way, we're seeing something cool today.
~ Kash displaying his sadism to Darius.
Not so tough now, are you? Lucky you’re not at the top of my “get dead” list! (turns to Daniel Kon) But you are, Kon. Hope you girls are hungry. (The Velociraptors turn against Kash) Huh? They scrambled the chips! NO-!
~ Kash’s final words, trying to use the Velociraptors to kill his boss before realizing they're no longer mind-controlled.

Kash D. Langford is the secondary antagonist of the Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, serving as an unseen antagonist from Seasons 1-3, the main antagonist of Season 4 and a supporting antagonist in Season 5.

He is one of Daniel Kon's employees at Mantah Corp, serving as one of the corporation's project leaders in projects involving dinosaurs. Sometime before the Jurassic World Incident, Langford blackmailed Sammy Gutierrez's family into sending her to Camp Cretaceous to collect dinosaur samples for Mantah to create his own dinosaurs for rich investors to organize illegal battles with them. However, as the show progresses, Kash's goals go beyond simply wanting to host illegal dinosaur fights, planning to mind-control dinosaurs as weapons for domination and kill anyone who opposes him.

He was voiced by Haley Joel Osment, who also voiced Vanitas in Kingdom Hearts.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He blackmailed Sammy Gutierrez's family with taking away their farm if they didn't send their daughter to Isla Nublar's park Jurassic World to collect dinosaur samples as Mantah Corp's spy.
  • Despite Sammy sending him the sample with a drone, Kash doesn't make her the favor of retrieving her from Isla Nublar when the 2015 Jurassic World Incident happens, having no problems with leaving Sammy at the mercy of the Indominus rex and other dinosaurs, and showing how he just cared for her as long he got the sample.
  • Under the orders of his boss Daniel Kon, he played a role in the creation of Mantah Corp Island, an island made for the purpose of having dinosaurs fight to the death throughout different biomes.
    • He kept the juvenile dinosaurs isolated and locked up in nursery pens their entire life, with them never getting sunlight or fresh air due to his cruelty.
  • He created the BRADs, robots which kill any unauthorized life form in site, as well as electric drones, which shock the dinosaurs and put them in pain while Kash forces them to move somewhere against their will.
    • Seeing as the kids found out about it through Kash's computer, it’s implied he was the one who received their distress signal from Nublar yet willingly chose to do nothing about it.
  • Through the BRADs, he drugged the food of Big Eatie and Little Eatie, a Tyrannosaurus rex mother-daughter duo, which inhibited their ability to feel pain, as well made them become more aggressive and starting fighting each other, possibly to the death if not for Mae using the BRADs to stop them.
    • He also programmed the Brad’s to not give them medical attention.
  • He dropped Pierce, a male Kentrosaurus, into the arctic biome, hoping he would slowly freeze to death.
  • He dropped Asset 87, a male Spinosaurus, in the desert biome to see how long he could last in the heat, indifferent to the suffering it would cause the dinosaur.
  • He is shown to be violent to even his own BRAD creations, kicking one into the water out of anger.
  • He ordered his BRADs to kill Dr. Mae Turner when she refused to let him hurt the dinosaurs of Mantah Corp Island, before sending the Velociraptors after her, which seriously wounded her and would have killed her if not for the six campers interfering.
  • When the drone operating system wouldn’t work, he presumably planned to kill the freelancers (accidentally) responsible for why the system wasn’t working, saying, “when I get my hands on those imbecile freelancers who messed up my codes, I am gonna…”.
  • He used his drones to make Big Eatie and Pierce fight just to entertain himself, only stopping the fight out of pragmatism after Darius Bowman pointed out Kon would be angry if Kash killed one of his expensive dinosaurs.
    • Just like when the two Eatie’s fought, he didn't give either dinosaur medical assistance after the fight.
  • He didn't let Darius leave his compound despite falsely believing that he hates dinosaurs too, feeling that he has seen too much, even though he is just a teen.
  • He made it clear that if Darius got in his way or if Kash felt like he isn’t worth keeping around, he would kill him.
  • He progressed from simply wanting to host illegal dinosaur fights to planning to brainwash and mind control dinosaurs for his own purposes of domination, later stating to "just imagine the kind of power you’d have if these stone-cold killers did your bidding. No one is saying no to you ever again", making it clear he'd use them to force people to follow his orders, and kill them if they don't.
    • It's later shown through his dialogue that he planned to use the brainwashed dinosaurs to impress his boss and convince Daniel to make them partners, only for Kash to betray and nearly kill him.
  • He threatened Darius every time he does something suspicious.
  • He sent Darius on essentially a suicide mission to brainwash Asset 87 while ordering the BRAD-X not to let him come back unless he completed the mission, and even had Asset 87 try to kill Darius when he ran away, clearly showing Kash wasn’t intending for him to survive the mission.
  • Upon getting the tech needed to do it, he decided to start his brainwashing process with baby dinosaurs while being aware they're still aware of their surroundings and could have their brains fried.
    • He even says that he'll kill Firecracker, a baby female Brachiosaurus, through having her head explode if she won't follow his orders.
  • He attempted to leave Darius behind and then use him as a human shield against a Ceratosaurus.
  • He attempted to capture and brainwash a baby Sinoceratops.
  • He suggested to Daniel they should just kill Pierce and get rid of him due to his tail breaking off, which made Kash feel as though it would be too lame for the presentations.
  • Led the campers into a trap alongside Daniel with the Brad-X's, dropping Pierce into a biome with Dilophosaurus as bait.
  • He tried to kill the Nublar Six, alongside Mae and Daniel, after even the latter was seemingly disgusted by his actions and attempted murder.
    • While trying to escape, he pushed Mae to the ground and reopened her stomach wound, leading Daniel to lock him up and free him only out of pragmatic reasons.
  • He tried to manipulate Sammy and Brooklyn into setting him free, presumably so he can take his revenge and kill Daniel.
  • Under Daniel's orders, he finished perfecting the mind control chips with Mae’s help, under the threat of punishment if he tried to kill anyone, and then used the mind control chips on several dinosaurs, including Big Eatie, taking sadistic enjoyment in the fact that she was trying to fight the brainwashing.
  • Even though he was spared and deserved more punishment than just being fired and allowed to go, he didn't relent and instead of leaving the island, went back for his mind control tablet from Lana Molina so he could use it to force a pair of Velociraptors to murder Daniel.
    • What's worth to note is that he claimed he let Lana Molina escape just because she wasn't on the top of his "get-dead list", which not only makes this pragmatic, but implies he still would've tried to kill her later on if he didn't die first.
  • While his death was horribly violent when he is killed and devoured by the Velociraptors that he was intending on using to kill Daniel, it is not played for any sympathy at all as it was outright well-deserved because of all the vile and nasty things he did.
  • While he has several comedic moments, they highlight how much of an immature manchild he is rather than play him for laughs. He’s taken seriously by everybody else in-universe as a threat, especially Sammy, who feels more contempt towards him than she does towards Daniel.
  • While Lewis Dodgson, the Indominus rex and Eli Mills did worse, Kash still counts due to having less resources than the former two do (with Dodgson being the CEO of a company and the Indominus being a dinosaur that can destroy a city with her bare fists), while brainwashing dinosaurs against their will and sending a young boy to a suicide mission are fairly unique crimes and his personal villainy towards Sammy makes him stand out from Mills (along with their devastating goals that are extremely heinous in different ways).

Trivia[]

  • Kash D. Langford is the only Pure Evil from the mainline Jurassic Park continuity to not originate from the films, as he only debuted and appeared in the animated Netflix spin-off.
  • Kash is Haley Joel Osment's second Pure Evil role, the first being Vanitas.
