Karl Hochman, also known as The Address-Book Killer, is the main antagonist of the 1993 horror/sci-fi flick Ghost in the Machine.
He is a serial killer who takes random people's address books and murders the names written down on them, who gets revived as a digital entity and seeks to continue his string of murders.
He is portrayed by Ted Marcoux.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Murdered dozens of innocent victims by going to the locations listed on random people's address books and massacring those inside, keeping a photo of them as a souvenir.
- Slaughtered a family of four at the start of the flick with a butcher knife.
- Tried to go to Terry Munroe's house to claim her life.
- Upon being revived as a digital ghost, he discovers a page from Terry's address book and begins massacring her friends in ways such as:
- Exposing her boss, Frank Mallory to tons of radiation from the microwave in his kitchen, thus causing his skin to pop off and his head hitting the countertop due to slipping from mustard.
- Sabotaging a hand dryer to set Elliot Miller ablaze, which burns him to death.
- Setting a dishwasher to blow up, releasing gallons of water and electrocuting a babysitter, Carol Maibaum when she steps on the floor.
- Tried to murder a baby girl by putting stove water onto the oven she touched on accident.
- Stalked Terry and her son Josh multiple times throughout the film with glee, in particular trying to kill the latter as well.
- Tried to cause a car accident by changing the traffic lights to put Terry's car in the path of another car filled with two other people.
- Guiled the police into accidentally shooting Terry's mother, Elaine Spencer, via reporting false situations to them.
- Tried to finish off Terry, Josh, and a hacker named Bram Walker in one fell swoop.
