I'll find the right frequency to remove that wart from your back, even if it kills me. [Slams Gamma Gong] What am I saying? It's gonna kill You!
~ Kanjar-Ro as he tortures Blue Beetle.

Kanjar-Ro was the major antagonist of the series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

He was leader of a space pirate with the goal of conquering the universe. He is also the archenemy of Blue Beetle.

What makes him Pure Evil?[]

  • Every season, Kanjar-Ro visits the Gibbles' home planet to abduct them and extract their energy to power his warship that could kill them as he relish their pain and suffering.
  • He fought against the last Blue Beetle, who was a hero to the Gibbles, and killed him by using a weapon called, Gamma Gong, which allowed Kanjar-Ro to continue his mission of extracting Gibbles' energy uninterrupted and the Gibbles lose hope.
  • During his latest Gibble hunt, he encountered the new Blue Beetle, who is Jamie Reyes, and Batman and attempts to kill them.
    • When Kanjar-Ro was losing to Blue Beatle, he used the Gamma Gong to incapacitate him.
    • When Kanjar-Ro learned the latest Blue Beatle was a teenager, he didn't care as he relished torturing the new Blue Beatle into painfully separating the Blue Scarab from the host and taking it for himself to be powerful.
    • When Kanjar-Ro became the Blue Beetle, he attempted to kill Batman, but Jamie Reyes uses the Gamma Gong into separating the scarab from Kanjar-Ro and reclaim it.
    • Before he was defeated, he made one last attempt to kill Batman and Jamie Reyes, but the Gibbles having learned to fight back defeated Kanjar-Ro.
  • When Kanjar-Ro was doing an illegal weapon trade with Matches Malone and his unnamed partner, who were Batman and Dr. Magnus respectively, he immediately saw through their disguises and attempted to kill them only to be foiled by the Metal Men.
  • He attempted to use the Negation Bomb to blow up an unnamed planet. However, Batman managed to stop him from blowing up a planet, but Batman was left too injured to continue his role as a hero for a while, which allowed his enemies to commit crime in Gotham City uninterrupted.
  • He attempted to use the Negation Bomb by using a Zeta bean to transport Rann to blow it up and take the Zeta Bean to conquer the universe. However, Adam Strange managed to stop him and transport him to a different planet before being eaten by a giant alien, which is played with satisfaction.
    • When he was teleported to different planets several times, he did not show cared for his crew when they were left behind or being eaten by a giant alien monster.
    • Despite having a bit comedic moment due to nearly giving up after teleporting to wrong planet several times, he quickly shrugged it off after reaching Rann thus continued to be a threat.
  • Despite the series being campy and lighthearted, he was always taken seriously by his enemies.
