Juzaburo Namba is the CEO of Namba Heavy Industries and a major antagonist in Kamen Rider Build, serving as a background antagonist in the "Birth" arc and the main antagonist of the "War" arc. He is a wealthy businessman and the one behind Faust, having funded the organization's human experiments and operated it as a covert research wing of his company. He seeks to start a war between the three divided regions of Japan as part of a plan to seize the Pandora's Box for his own ends.
As the Japanese Civil War breaks out, Namba aligns himself with Seito and supplies them with his company's more advanced products to given them an advantage over the other regions. He later assassinates and assumes the identity of Seito's Prime Minister, Masakuni Mido, after Mido refuses to follow his suggestions. Initially seeking only to profit from the Japanese Civil War, Namba eventually begins seeking to use the energy of Pandora's Box to unify all of Japan under one state controlled by him and eventually the world.
He was portrayed by Akira Hamada.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Attempted to instigate a war between the divided Japanese states Touto, Seito and Hokuto by playing them against each other in order to claim the energies of the Pandora Box and use them to create a powerful weapon so that he can sell it to other countries.
- Prior to the series, he indoctrinated a group of orphans into the Namba Children, spies for his company who were completely loyal to him and happen to commit suicide if their positions were ever compromised.
- Unlike most other villains in the series, who were either possessed by the Pandora's Box, tragic or has any redeeming qualities, he happens to retain his state of mind and is also aware of what he was doing. He also lacks any proper motivation or excuse for his actions.
- Backed evil organizations that carry out unethical experiments such as Faust and manipulated things so that his favored nation Seito emerges as the dominant power in Japan.
- Killed the Prime Minister of Seito and transfered his face onto him so he can assume his identity, before he now seeks to unite Japan under him and create an "immortal Namba Empire" to take over the world.
- Despite having a good façade in public as a friendly arms manufacturer, Juzaburo is a power-hungry profiteer who is willing the make a profit out of war and conflict.
Trivia[]
- Juzaburo Namba is similar to Takaaki Tenjo from Kamen Rider Amazons, as both are elderly, non-action antagonists who are presidents of the companies (Namba Heavy Industries and Nozama Pharmacy respectively) that are behind the villainous factions of their series. However, while Tenjo survived in the series finale, Namba dies at the hands of Evolt.
