Josiane Sobral Ramirez Matheus is the main antagonist of the telenovela A Dona do Pedaço (Sweet Diva).

She was portrayed by Agatha Moreira.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • She hates her mother for being a cake maker and did everything to harm her, from starting an affair with her fiancé to taking everything out of her and throwing her out of the house.
  • She is racist when she is upset to learn that her half-brother from her father Amadeu, with another woman, is black.
  • She pretended to get along with her colleague and digital influencer Virgínia "Vivi" Guedes based on the latter's accomplishments, while in reality she secretly had envy and resentment against her, as Josiane never even tried to push and charter her own path of modeling success.
  • Although she presents the Freudian excuse that she was bullied in childhood as a daughter of a cake maker, this is yet another case of Freudian excuse is not an excuse, as it does not justify anything she did with her own mother or other people, including killing, making her even more petty.
  • She started an affair with her mother's fiancé, Regis, without her knowing it and planned with him to steal and take everything from Maria da Paz. When her mother found out, she admitted coldly and without any sympathy that she had been holding the case for some time, showing no remorse for her mother's shock and causing her to shoot Regis and be arrested for it.
  • When the police arrived home, she coldly handed over her mother without hesitation, telling she shot Regis. Even if she showed upset, she didn't actually care about Regis' situation, but was because she was decided to send her mother to jail and was firm in accusing her.
  • When Regis turns against Josiane and revealed to genuinely care for and love Maria da Paz, Josiane acts in a jealous way, which includes breaking a few bottles of wine from his store, showing that the possible love she felt for her was nothing but perversion or simply an affair motivated by the desire to harm her mother.
  • In order to deliver a coup and take everything from the mother, Josiane sends her cousin, Rael, to sabotage the production of cake's factory, setting fire to the stock of ingredients, generating a crisis in the company and convincing her mother to put everything in her name.
  • She threw her mother out of the house and took everything from her, including the cake factory, leaving Maria da Paz with nothing. She also insults her grandmother and asks Maria da Paz to take her out of the house with her.
  • Josiane lied to Gilda, the deceased wife of Amadeu, about the latter about to abandon her to be with Maria da Paz if he finds out about her terminal breast cancer, so Gilda quit her treatments since the cancer has been seemingly in remission until symptoms slowly appeared again as Gilda would almost pass out on every occasion.
    • Josiane made the story up, as she correctly knew Amadeu would absolutely expose her and Regis's plan to confiscate everything from her mother, while her father had already tried multiple times to prevent Regis from marrying Maria da Paz. When Amadeu discovered Gilda's cancer during a visit to the doctor, it had already metastasized into her lungs. Despite being treated with surgery, Gilda died shortly afterwards, much to the grief of Amadeu and her loved ones.
    • Since the lie of Josiane delayed Gilda's treatment for the sake of her goals, this caused indirect, but another, murder against the innocent Gilda.
  • When Maria da Paz's butler discovered the case between Josiane and Regis and blackmailed her to take revenge for the moments when he was mistreated by Josiane, she threw him in front of a truck, killing him. And she throws his boyfriend Lucas off a balcony when he tries to do the same.
  • While she may had stood up for a trans woman and employee named Britney after a loud verbal skirmish coming from her love interest, she had done it for selfish reasons to maintain her reputation, power, and influence intact within the cake factory, its workers, and its customers.
  • After she successfully took over the cake factory, she never truly cared about the conditions of the factory and its workers, despite many warnings and advice from Márcio, as she only cared about the profitable benefits coming from it while she worked as a digital influencer.
  • She tries to murder her boyfriend, Teo, who genuinely loves her, after he finds out she is a murderer, butchering him with an ice pick even after he promised not to report her to the police for really loving her. And tries to kill Teo again by turning off devices at the hospital when she finds out that he survived.
  • When her work as a digital influencer is dismissed by the photographer Kim Ventura because she is not bringing financial returns to the company while lacking charisma compared to her cousin, Josiane locks her in the room and is about to stab and kill her with scissors.
  • She had tried multiple times to deny her crimes before being finally exposed, and she even framed Regis at one time when being questioned by the detectives in connection to the murders.
    • After being exposed, her father at first agreed to represent her as long as she pleaded guilty to her crimes, but he eventually stepped down as her lawyer while Josiane continued to deny her heinous actions.
    • She rudely called out another lawyer after being convicted during trial and sentenced to 40 years in prison, and she blatantly tried to claim innocence as the officers escorted her out of the courtroom.
  • After she was imprisoned, she threatened the other inmates badly with arrogance. But once she realized she would shorten her sentence if she presented good behavior, she pretended redemption and became evangelical, deceiving everyone about being redeemed, including her mother, for whom she pretended remorse.
  • Being released from prison two years later, becoming evangelical and reuniting with Regis, the ex-fiancé with whom she cheated on her mother, who, unlike her, is now genuinely redeemed by becoming evangelical, Josiane kills him when the two are going to kiss, throwing him off a viaduct when he proposes to marry her, since she is interested in a wealthy missionary and Regis has become poor, proving that she has never redeemed herself.
  • It is implied in the end that she minds killing an evangelical man she met who would be her new husband further, so that she would inherit his wealth.
