Jorogumo is the main antagonist of the second main story arc of Yo-kai Watch: Shadowside. She also appears in the video game Yo-kai Watch 4: We're Looking Up at the Same Sky as a boss in Chapter 6 as well as a playable character in the Yo-kai Watch: Puni Puni mobile game.
She was a spider Yo-kai who preyed upon young men and was sealed away by a priest. Now bound to the body of one of his descendants, she schemed to free herself by any means necessary.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Five hundred years before the events of the series, she killed numerous young men, devouring them and then stealing their souls, leading one of her potential victims, a powerful shaman, to seal her away.
- After the seal weakened with time, she latched onto the shaman's descendent, a girl named Ayame Himeno.
- She would go on out of body excursions to murder people, causing large disappearances wherever Ayame went.
- After Ayame convinced Shibumenken that he was still attractive and that he didn't need to try and restore his looks, she murdered and ate him in an alleyway later that day.
- Upon realizing that Haruya Sakami had mistaken her for a being called the Princess, she manipulated him into finding a way to release her, planning to betray him and his group when they outlived their usefulness.
- Douketsu also revealed she had them kidnap men for her, whom she likely ate.
- After Ayame showed Dr. Chameleon that people did care for him when he was alive, Jorogumo ordered Haruya to kill him, as he had modified the faces of handsome actors prior to his redemption.
- Despite Dr. Chameleon having chosen to redeem, she still had Haruya kill him so he wouldn't tamper with her food supply.
- While she awaited Haruya to deliver the shaman's skull, she murdered a man in an alleyway as he begged for his life.
- When Haruya finally found the shaman's skull that held the power to free her, she simply mocked him before freeing herself.
- As she exited Ayame's soul, she delivered a poisoned bite to it, infecting the teenager with a lethal poison, uncurable by conventional means.
- She humiliated Haruya in front of the Agency, explaining how she had manipulated him for so long to them.
- She trapped Douketsu and Haruya in webbing before draining their energy, promising to kill them later.
- While Haruya is actually the Yo-kai Shutendoji in disguise, she has no way of knowing he isn't actually a child and is shocked when he later reveals himself.
- She tried to shred the Detective Agency to ribbons with her webbing.
- After the group fled, she stole the souls of everyone within Motomochi Tower, a crowded tourist attraction for all ages.
- The fate of her victims is never directly confirmed to the viewers, whether or not they survived, despite Jorogumo's gathered energy being released, remaining a mystery.
- She covered the tower in webbing to prevent anyone getting in or out, before extending her webbing to absorb the souls of anyone who got close.
- When the Agency returned, she puppeteered the bodies of her victims to try and take them out, seemingly killing Micchy in the process.
- She kidnapped Keisuke Amano, who is eleven, to use as a hostage.
- After mistaking Junior for a handsome man, she tried to eat him despite fighting Fudou Myou at the time.
- She threatened to kill Keisuke should they attack her again, before draining Fudou Myou of his energy, separating him from Touma and reverting him into a child-like state, Fudou Myou Boy.
- Despite Fudou Myou now being an amnesiac child, she threatened to kill him regardless and steal his energy to recoup her losses.
- After losing most of her energy and size after a beatdown by Fudou Myou Boy, she threatened to restart her collection by slaughtering the Agency and feeding off their souls.
- When Haruya confronted her, she once again mocked him, asking if he would start calling her 'princess' again.
- After Haruya turns into Shutendoji and slices her legs off, she flees, promising to steal more souls and energy so that she may return again and kill them all, resulting in a very alive Micchy petrifying and shattering her.
