| “ | Now, that was rude. The first boy blunder had some manners. I suppose I'm going to have to teach you a lesson so you can better follow in his footsteps.... Nah, I'm just gonna keep beating you with this crowbar. | „ |

| “ | [Laughs] I can't believe you got him! You expert, rootin'-tootin', eagle-eyed, Goth-loving marksman! I love it! You managed to find a way to win...and everybody still loses! [Laughs] | „ |

| “ | THAT'S THE BEST JOKE I EVER HEARD! This isn't Batman! This isn't your inner demons! This is you. The "deep down inside" you. That day in Bosnia was your birthday. I got you your crowbar, a little song, a little dance, a little dynamite in your pants, and you were reborn! HALLELUJAH! Without your proud papa Joker there to slap you on the ass, without the Dark Knight going nighty night forever, you wouldn't be the fine, upstanding, eyes open, gun-toting psychopathic survivor you are today! So, admit it, son... Who's your daddy? | „ |

The Joker is the main antagonist of the 2010 animated superhero direct-to-video film Batman: Under the Red Hood and its 2020 interactive spiritual sequel Batman: Death in the Family.
Like his comic book counterpart, he is a psychotic criminal mastermind, Batman's arch-nemesis, and the murderer and later attempted victim of Jason Todd, the second Robin.
He was voiced by John DiMaggio, who also voiced Brother Blood in Teen Titans, Toyman in Superman: Doomsday, The Faceless Hunter in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Aggregor, Vulkanus and Ragnarok in the Ben 10 franchise and Rough Cut in DC Showcase: Catwoman.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- During the flashback of his years as the Red Hood, while his exchange with Batman before tripping onto the vat of chemicals implies that he was actually set up to die in the chemical plant, presumably by the mob, it's too weak to justify his actions later on.
- However, it's implied to be a lie, because in the aforementioned Batman's flashback to his encountering the man who would become the Joker, the man is seen yelling, "Please, no! Stay away! It's a set-up! Wait..." and "I'm not a crook, I swear!" while attempting to unmask himself, implying that he had the same backstory as the one given in Batman: The Killing Joke, or at the very least a similar backstory, but later scenes involving Joker, Batman, Nightwing, and Red Hood together imply that Joker wore the Red Hood costume other times, since he brags and takes pride about being "used to" wear the Red Hood costume in a more classy way than Jason. If the Joker was really innocent, he would never be proud of wearing the Red Hood costume, nor would he brag about wearing it better than Jason.
- While he is an anarchist, his intentions with anarchism are not out of a desire for a greater good or well-intentioned extremism but is instead a mere excuse to cause chaos and terrorism for fun.
- He breaks his deal with Ra's al Ghul, who originally hired him as a distraction, by kidnapping Robin (Jason Todd).
- He beats up and tortures Jason with a crowbar and then leaves him to die in a warehouse rigged with bombs. He would later be resurrected by Ra's al Ghul, but lose his mind as a result.
- Taunts Batman with how he killed Jason when the former tried to press him for information on the Red Hood.
- Kills five of Black Mask's henchmen for no reason other than to intimidate him.
- Betrays Black Mask by gagging him and his henchmen, along with the Red Hood’s henchmen, nearly burning them all alive just to get Red Hood’s attention.
- He prevented Batman from disarming a bomb Jason activated, intending to die with him and Jason.
- In some alternate scenarios where Batman is able to save Jason in time, the former ends up dying in his son's place. While his death does leave Joker heavily depressed, even driving him to give up his life of crime and insanity in one of these paths, this is only because Joker is simply bored of being a criminal now that he has no ultimate foe to face rather than feeling remorse for killing him. When he learns that Jason is now coming to avenge Batman, he very quickly is willing to go back to criminal behavior while encouraging him to become a killer to score a final victory against Batman.
