“ | Why? Because you ruined everything, Liu. You just had to survive that night, didn't you? You just had to smell the fire. You just had to wake mom and dad. All those months of planning, ruined. It would've been perfect, Liu. We all could've died together, but NO. You and mom survived and I was stuck like this! Do you know what it's like to spend every single day TRAPPED in a shell of your own body? Being BABIED by the people you couldn't kill!? Do you understand how humiliating that is!? It's like there really is a god up there, mocking me for my failure. Well, I didn't plan on failing this time! I spent months thinking about that night, what I could've done differently, how much it hurt. Reliving that pain in the smallest of ways helped me figure it out though. It was going to be perfect, Liu, but you ruined it again. You just had to keep babying me. You just had to be such a shitty liar. You made me do this. You made me act early and sloppily! That's okay, though. This is still going to be the happiest day of my life. Oh, if I could smile right now, Liu, I'd be grinning ear to ear!... | „ |
~ Jeff's unhinged monologue to his brother Liu, revealing that he caused the fire that killed their father in an attempt to kill all of them. |
“ | Shhhhhh... It'll be alright, Liu... When you next wake up, we're gonna see mom and dad again... just go to sleep... | „ |
~ Jeff before attempting to kill Liu. |
Jeffrey Woods, often abbreviated to Jeff, and also known as Jeff the Killer and the Ghost Stalker, is the titular main antagonist the 2024 rewrite of the Creepypasta of the same name.
Like his 2011 counterpart, he is a young man who becomes irreversibly burned and disfigured following a fire and gradually becomes a deranged serial killer after murdering his mother. Unlike his 2011 counterpart however, he is far more twisted and less tragic, instead being obsessed with finding and killing his brother Liu to complete his mission of killing his entire family before ending his own life.
He was voiced by the video's creator, Zachary Gignac, who also voiced his brother Liu in the same video.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He planned on killing his family, including himself, in a house fire. His brother Liu and their mother end up escaping, but Jeff's dad goes back to save Jeff whose leg was stuck under rubble. This results in their dad dying and Jeff being horrifically scarred.
- He stalks Randy and then murders him in revenge for mocking his injuries and scars.
- When Jeff first confesses that he killed Randy, he tells Liu that it was in self-defense and that Randy attacked him first. This turns out to be one of Jeff's many lies.
- He very coldly kills his own mother by stabbing her in the neck with the switchblade so deep that he had trouble getting the blade out afterwards, while staring at Liu.
- He then blames Liu for making Jeff kill their mother.
- He then begins to reveal how much he despises Liu, and after carving a smile into his face, he goes to hunt down Liu.
- He kills several Liu lookalikes, murdering them in their sleep, and leaving some alive and traumatised so that the police can lead him to Liu's location.
- Jeff and Liu battle in the kitchen, blades in hand, and it's only mentioned that one brother made it out alive. We never know which one, though.
- Jeff would have ended his own life upon killing Liu. Considering this fact, alongside his self inflicted wounds to his body and mouth, it is highly likely that Liu won.
- What makes this rewrite different from the original is that he has absolutely no redeeming qualities. It's made clear eventually that Jeff is not a tragic victim of some accident. He wanted to kill his family and himself in the fire he started, only for Liu to botch the whole thing by waking up and alarming his parents. Jeff even holds some heavy resentment for Liu due to this incident, blaming him that he ended up scarred. And overall, in the long run, he shows no redeeming qualities whatsoever; he's just a despicable and obsessed individual.
- He is a sadistic, egotistical psychopath who manipulates Liu and everyone around him into believing he is a tragic victim and target of harassment.
Trivia[]
- This version of Jeff is widely considered to be one of the most evil depictions of the character ever written as he is given no sympathetic or understandable motivations that even the most vile depictions of Jeff at least hint at. He is driven by sheer sadism and hatred from the start, with zero cause.
- Ironically enough when Pastra was discussing his version of the story in his Jeff the Killer Retrospective, he said himself that his Jeff was going to be pure evil right from the get-go.
- This version of Jeff is one of two versions of Jeff to be Pure Evil along with Slimebeast's Jeff.
