Jake is the main antagonist in the 1984 live-action vigilante/gang movie Savage Streets.
He is the leader of The Scars who normally share a rivalry with the Satins, who were led by Brenda, and later became vengeful after the latter stole and trashed their car.
In an act of revenge, he and his men raped her deaf sister, Heather, and killed her best friend, Francine (who was pregnant at that time). His actions led to his demise at the hands of Brenda near the end of the film.
He was portrayed by the late Robert Dryer.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He ran a dope dealing ring where he often beats or harasses one of his dealers when none of them had the debt he owed him or when he felt like messing with them, Fadden was an example.
- It is heavily implied that he had Vince join the Scars out of peer pressure and didn't mind Fargo and Red bullying him at times, and so is himself. He even claimed later on that he "owned" him.
- When he and his gang almost ran over Brenda's deaf younger sister, Heather, he scoffs it off and tries to force Fargo to "apologize" as an excuse.
- He beats Fadden for not having the debt he owed Jake while allowing Fargo and Red to sexually assault Fadden's girlfriend out of spite. He later messed with him again when he and his boys trespassed at the school he goes to.
- Despite claiming he liked Fadden, the reason was that he loved bullying and beating him as if he was a punching bag. Even if he and his right-hand men had intentions of recruiting him as a member of the Scars, he would've likely treated him the same way he treats Vince.
- In an act of revenge for trashing his gang's car, he and his men cornered, groped, and later lead the gang rape of Heather just to get even with Brenda. What's worse is that Heather had nothing to do with the Satins' actions other than just not knowing what was going on at that time and Jake didn't care if she was deaf and innocent as he denounced her as a "r*tard".
- Before Heather was raped, he pressured and forced Vince to rape her first, and he later taunts him about how "good it felt". However, Vince would show remorse over it and later receives flashbacks about it after he apologized to the unconscious Heather back at the hospital, implying he gained PTSD from his guilt.
- He then knocks Heather out into a coma when he and his gang heard someone come by the hallway.
- He, along with Fargo and Red, then hauled girls over just to taunt Vince about raping Heather while then forcing Francine, Brenda's pregnant best friend, into their laps.
- When two men tried to stop Jake and his men from harassing Francine, he forced the latter to "apologize" to scoff it off before it turned into a bar fight.
- He then beats Francine's boyfriend during the fight when he tried to break it off.
- Threatened Vince, alongside Fargo and Red, when he suspects that their newest member would rat them out upon discussing the rumors of Heather's rape.
- As petty revenge for scarring his face, he chased and threw Francine off the bridge on the day she was about to plan her wedding. What's worse is that Francine was pregnant at that time, so it makes Jake guilty of killing her unborn baby, which is feticide. Although unknown of that fact, when Brenda brings it up later on, his response was to spit on her and it clearly shows that he has zero remorse over it.
- He tried to angrily go after Vince for leaving him and his gang, which was stopped by Fargo due to the possibility of attracting the police.
- He later kills Vince by ramming him over with his car just to get even with him for leaving the Scars due to a moral decision he had a right on doing so after he killed Francine.
- He tries to kill Brenda just to settle the score with her.
- Despite his friendship with Fargo and Red, he doesn't truly care about them out of altruistic genuineness but rather out of mutual sadism. He wasn't above insulting them or doing anything weirdly perverted such as not minding Fargo kissing him, which is not out of love. Instead of mourning their deaths after seeing their corpses, he was concerned for his own safety, further proving that he doesn't truly care about his right-hand men while demonstrating the coward he is deep down.
- His excuse for his actions is, without doubt, the most pettiest and outright redundant as it all started over a car the Satins stole and trashed. Though to say he and his gang deserved is overstated, it is understandable on the Satins' part due to the Scars nearly running over Heather without remorse and Jake was already evil before the film's events.
